Re: Nintendo 3DS
For most people, this image is complete nonsense, but for those that have the 3DS and activate Mii Maker's QR scan, I can new invade your 3DS if I haven't already:

Re: Nintendo 3DS
First of all, that CNN reviewer is an idiot. He should try to play Street Fighter on his iPad and see how well is does. And comparing graphics to a PS3? Seriously? Fail review. He was just looking for something to whine about.
Second of all, I love my 3DS! Its really intuitive and fun. I got Nintendogs + Cats (French Bulldog) and its so cute! I have a a little dalmatian! The 3D effect is great, I do just fine with it up all the way. Nintendo is really doing something amazing and really pioneering something. I really hope they do well with this. ^-^

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Hmmm, I really haven't played a versus game in a while. That reminds me of when I used to play Jump Ultimate Stars (that Super Smash Brothers-ish game, but with Jump! manga characters: Dragonball, Hunter X Hunter, etc.).
Had to stop because I got tired of random encounter people always resorting to crap like always using cheap characters like that guy from Bleach, using invincibility glitches (yes! people do it!), or worst of all, nobody fighting each other because everybody just wants to collect bonus points for winning (where everybody gets points because everybody's a winner in a tie).
And if you attempted to get the others to fight, they would all gang up on you then do emotes on your corpse.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Well, of what's out there, I feel I got most of the best of the launch.
Dunno what's up with the Samurai Warriors reviews, well, aside from it sounding like angsty interns wrote them. I just started playing it a little while ago and for the most part its the kind of thing I remember Warrior's games being. I suppose my only issues with it are that this one wants to run real-time text on the top screen during the action - this seems to be a recurring problem with the series - and that's just easy to miss when you're busy hacking and slashing away.
Some say the fact there are fewer enemies on the screen is bad. Well, I can get about ten or fifteen on at a time. I dunno if I need to see 30 or 40 people there.
Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars isn't going to blow you away with its graphics, generic characters (we're talking GI Joe generic here) story or 3D effects, but aside from that, you have a extremely solid strategy title going on there. Yeah, its not a tactical team shooter, but more of a SRPG this time out - and in this regard, its taken a lot of good notes from the likes of Advance Wars and other stars of the genre.
As for Super Street Fighter IV - I'm in love with it. I hadn't played a lot of the console versions, but the "Lite" mode was a good starting point for me and now I've moved into "Pro" mode since I've been taking Chun Li through training and I can do most of her move set now.
Lite Mode is puts Ultras, Supers and EX moves into shortcuts on the touch screen. This can be used online, but people using it can be filtered out - and you'll want to filter them out because it pretty much turns everyone into a Ken flowchart

Once I got skewered by a few Cammys that just spammed Spiral arrow and Cannon Spike, I went to training to learn to go without and slapped the filter on Lite users.
Then I met a fellow named "THE RAPE" who liked playing Ryu. Suffice to say he got pummeled just about every time. He was a good sparring partner though and I got a rank-up off him. He was using Ryu's light low kicks a lot for some reason and I don't think he knew EX attacks cut through normal Hadokens.
So SSFIV is my favorite so far.
I've heard a lot of favorable things about Ridge Racer this time out, but I've always been fickle with racing games. I know in three days the interest would die no matter how good it was.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Well, I got two Street Pass tags today. One from a coworker and apparently one on the way home. Seems the people in Street Pass can be used one time in some Mii Plaza mini-games, one of which is an mini-RPG where your Mii gets captured and locked away, so they're in need of saving and the people you meet on streetpass are to save them.
Seems our heroes run away after attacking, though. You can also hire NPCs with game coins, but those are earned through the system's pedometer for everay 100 steps you take with the 3DS. The treasure they earn if they win are hats. My second guy beat the first floor of the place and looted a Mario hat for my Mii.

My 3DS friend code is 3093 7070 1972
Guess I'll sig it, but for those that got a 3DS, I suppose its relevant to post.
All I have is Street Fighter for online, though. I don't think Ghost Recon has online multi.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Even assuming that companies actually do decide not to enable region locks on titles only meant for one country, all it takes is a backfire in your release to screw it up. Fatal Frame 4, for example. Planned for western release, and then canceled. In that case, because it sucked, but people still wanted to play it.Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostI'm saying until we have a real sample of games that are (1) from Japan and (2) Japan only people may very well be making much ado about nothing.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
Well, I got mine with SSFIV 3D and Ghost Recon.
Everything is good except that the left speaker is shot, so I have to return this one unfortunately. Guess I'm going to bed now rather than later so I can run back out at 9am to make sure I can get another. I don't know how many we had in stock as I wasn't working the midnight sale.

Re: Nintendo 3DS
I'm fairly sure it was announced a few years back that the next persona title would be on a handheld and it's a bit too soon for a Persona 4 remake though a port or remake is possible. A direct sequel to Persona 4 wouldn't really work either since the story was wrapped up nicely.Originally posted by Omgwtfbbqkitten View PostStill don't know where you're getting Persona 5 from. Its not been announced for any system and the Persona team hasn't announced their next project anyway. The name's always just been tentatively "Shin Megami Tensei: Persona" since E3 last year. That could be anything.
That leaves the following as the most likely: Persona 5 or a P4 port, though I have heard some rumours that it could be a P3P port.
