Yeah. I could say the same about FFXI. Except these are games that require you to devote more time to them to really be appreciated. 5 hours is not enough. Try 15 and get back to me.

Of course if you don't want to spend 15 hours just trying to appreciate the game, I don't blame you... but believe me, there's a good game here if you are willing to put the time in.

Anyways, I finally beat the game this weekend, final completion time was 52 hours, but it's looking like my friend's gonna beat it in 40. So I guess completion times can vary by quite a bit. I think my time was higher 'cause I always paused to view the scenery as I went along. Sooooo prettttyyyy. Definitely the best looking game on the PS3 and XBox combined.

    ENDING DISCUSSION --SPOILERS---

So, those gremlins are pretty decent. Preemptive strike, plus Blitz, means I'll knock at least two of them into Stagger. The only hiccup occurs when one of those who aren't staggered decide to Summon, potentially calling in an enemy that'll drag the fight out. The CP rewards are fixed, so there's nothing additional when another enemy is brought in, and I'm pretty sure it's the same no matter how many stars you get.

TGM has already maxed out all her characters. Twice. While backing cookies.

You can farm CP in CH.11 very easily. In the Northern Highlands, right before the mines there is a save point (and later a chocobo once you do mission 14) as you move further down the incline you will see a Behemoth & some big dog thingy (name escapes me) that are fighting each other.

Regardless of how you wind up touching them it starts a 3-way battle preemptive strike. Take out the Behemoth first as he's WAY harder, then the other one. It should be a fairly easy win if you've been upgrading your weapons and accessories at all for a whopping 6600 CP. The best part is if you run back up the hill and just a little past the save point, turn around and the two of them will have respawned. It's by far the best spot in the game for farming CP.

Of course, even with the Growth Egg (mission 54 IIRC) doubling that to 13200, it still takes ages to max out your characters. The final upgrades are all 60,000 [B]each[/B, sometimes 120k+ in the 3 roles that your character didn't start with. That's why my characters aren't maxed out TGM.

Ok, so I do wanna farm some stuff during chapter 11, but a lot of it can wait, and some of it will have to then?

In Chapter 13 you gain access to 2 (and later a 3rd) warp portal that takes you back to Gran Pulse and Eden. And if you summon an Eidolon at the start of a fight with an Adamantoise (the ones with the spiked leggings) it will instantly knock them on their sides.

Dak, go past the behemoth and the dogs to the left. Go past the two dogs fighting the purple armadillo and you'll see four little bat people things called Rangda that are bowing in a circle around a treasure sphere. You can jump up the tall ledge in the middle then move left and you should catch them all in a preemptive strike. May take some fine tuning to figure out the exact positioning, but they take less than a minute to kill (Done it in less than 20 seconds before), and you get 2960 cp everytime. Plus they respawn soon as you run back and get that part of the terrain off your minimap. An hour or two doing that and I've nearly maxed everyone's main three paradigms.

Weird. This happened to me too once but it was heave. The zone with all the Behemoths i just equip dual blackbelts to reduce the damage. This way, once heave occurs, I switch the Sentinel and Medic x 2 to get all my hp back, then switch back to Com and Rav x 2.

Also, anyone have the XXXXXite items that are needed for upgrading to tier 2? I thought i could figure it out when i went home, but couldn't. I thought hat once you highlighted the item in the upgrade menu, the eprson you are suppose to use that for would highlight too, but no... And do you just need one of those items to get to tier 2? Just goto the upgrade menu, select the maxed out weapon, and then use the XXXXite item?

I'm on Gran Pulse, and I'm disappointed that I can no longer sneak up on enemies. Also, for the past chapter or two enemies that have engaged each other in combat will stop what they're doing and gang up on me as soon as I approach.

It's not like I've been slacking off. It takes a monumental amount of CP to max out all 6 Roles on each character. They all have their 1st 3 maxed out, but the remaining 3 take so much....

    Eighteen minutes!

Anyways, I finally got the point where I can put my people in any direction I want in the Crystarium, and so far I haven't put them outside of their original areas. I'm using Lightning for Commando and Ravager, Sazh for Ravager and Synergist, and Vanille for Ravager, Saboteur, and Medic. Basic set-up is COM/RAV/RAV, and I can switch to COM/SYN/SAB for buffs/debuffs, or I can switch to COM/SYN/MED for some buffs and upkeep. I always switch to RAV/RAV/RAV when I've got somebody staggered. I'm thinking that somebody needs to be able to defend, and I'm guessing I'll just use Lightning for that.

I got rid of all my old weapons and had enough money/materials to upgrade some of the second and third tier weapons to around level 15. Axis Blade, for extra ATB on attacks, Procyons, for longer stagger duration, and some wand for extra cure potency. It dropped our overall power, but I'm hoping the extra features will be strategically handy.
