Re: Go outside, look up
I live downtown. Like, surrounded by skyscrapers downtown. There are never not lights on. I'd have to drive at least 30-60 minutes away to see any real stars. Though in the suburbs I can usually see the bigger constellations. Or when the moon isn't full.

Re: Go outside, look up
I looked up last night, it was still rather visible, but the AP story Sunday said it would last through Tuesday evening. Monday and Tuesday it was to the left of the movie, last night it was to the right of it.Originally posted by Nandito View PostWas Jupiter the tiny-biggest star in the sky that night? So much for the every-12-year-visit, Jupiter. You sucked. >:|

Re: Go outside, look up
There's usually a time right after dusk that's really good for stargazing in more urban areas. Not sure when it is for where you are but here it's around 9:00. Right after it gets dark but before all the street lights come on. You might try then rather than late at night.Originally posted by Murphie View PostJupiter is for real boring looking from downtown. Saw it by the full moon this morning while driving to work. I love when the moon is so bright. It's calming.

Re: Go outside, look up
LOL I read that to my hubby and he got up and left the room. I shrugged and went back to my work and he comes in the room playing my Ocarina so I busted out laughing. He's a huge Zelda freak.Originally posted by Yellow Mage View PostThat was your mistake.
You should have played the Song of Time.

Re: Go outside, look up
Thanks Kitten, I had a nightmare last night because of you. In it, I went outside like a good little granny and looked up at the sky. There was this huge bright star with an orange tint that started getting redder and redder. Then a green star started getting brighter and brighter so I was watching that one. It was kind of like those swirls you see in an anime when someone gets hit in the head, so I was sort of mesmerized. Then I looked back at the red star and low and behold it was a HUGE ASS ASTEROID coming to flatten me like and pancake in a couple minutes! I went running back into the house (like it could protect me) screaming "Kitten is a liar! Kitten is a liar!" when I heard the house start breaking apart and then I woke up.
