Re: "Anonymous"
Another example of Fox's inability to cover the important issues. Three cheers for politically biased newscasting!

Re: "Anonymous"
4chan originally started as some geek nest where they shared hentai anime images with each other. After that, I'm not sure what happened and how it devolved to what it is today. Considering it was a place filled with geeks, I'm not at all suprised that the vast majority of people who populate it are either just curious on-lookers, emo king/queens and a bunch of mentally defunct losers that psychotherapy and psychodrugs would not be able to save.

I wonder that too. A lot of people don't know either. They just seem to follow up with others.Originally posted by DieselBoy09 View PostI'm at a complete loss regarding all of this. It sounds the the oddest, most teenage, crass group on the face of the planet, and honestly what's the huge deal with the Jewish jokes? I understand the things that happened with the kid and the news cast, but I've been recommended to 4chan before and such, but from an outside view, this seems so........ odd.
Oh god, is it really just an image forum with a sometimes immature post base? I just read the wikipedia on it like I should have done to begin with, and it sounds like nothing but a forum with images at which several noticeable instances took place.
Back on topic, the "Anonymous" video was weird.

Re: "Anonymous"
You're right, it's not. But people everywhere tend to get their kicks at doing something they normally wouldn't get away with.I appreciate a sharp wit and everything, but there is very little of value humor-wise at those sites. It's so easy to make fun of terrible things when you're safe in suburbia. But that's nothing new.
Honestly if you think of half the conversations that go on over the internet, flame wars in real life would usually turn into fist fights, and over-aggressive and insulting people would just get kicked out. There's a higher tolerance for this sort of thing on the internet, because people don't meet face to face, which allows them to pass things off as 'goofing off' and believe that nothing on the internet is ever considered serious.
And it all boils down to taste as well. Some people enjoy seeing and being part of insult humor. Some people even don't mind being the victim of it. However there's not line drawn on the internet to tell these people "Ok, Enough" anymore, and it is, in my opinion, getting out of hand.
No don't consider me some wacked out conservative or something, I understand the aspect of 'it's just a joke', or getting your 'lulz' but it's a bit more mature to be more consdieate of others.
Me? I don't like insulting/pissing people off, and won't do it unless I feel insulted in some way. Unfornately that equates to me sucking at insult humor due to lack of pratice. However, rather than taking enjoyment in making other people feel and look like shit, I take enjoyment in making other people feel awkward.
For example: Instead of phone calling threats like "I'm gonna rape your daughter and kill her." I'd phone in something like "Did you know that the average human male ejaculates over nine gallons of sperm in his lifetime? Have you been doing your part?"
Just imagining the "WTF!?" Look on their faces is enough to make me 'lulz'.
In the end it all boils down to Maturity and Taste, and how much and how little you have.

Re: "Anonymous"
Maple Story is the downfall of the Internet.
It's times like these that I do my own thing and skateboard.
See: I can be "anti-society" (*rolls eyes. Not really, I just love the feeling of skateboarding) and get exercise at the same time.
Side Note: While Feba's brand of cynicism may seem to be a bit harsh, he's one of the more respectable "trolls" (for lack of a better word) that I've come across. Most other people are simply unbearable, but at the very least, Feba suceeds in making us laugh.
(I'd link that post where that dude came out of the closet to him, but well.. yeah, I'd rather not)
So in conclusion, these ppl are tards. They should keep all their hentai fantasies to themselves. As a young adult with an younger brother, the things these deranged ppl say on the internet us revolting, and stems from the fact that if they said these things in society, they'd be Blacklisted.
It's easy to be cool on the internet when no one knows that you were rejected off of the AV Squad because you weren't even cool enough for them.

Also, can't Fox News just go back to, you know, the news?

Re: "Anonymous"
DieselBoy: LURK MOAR
After that, read encyclopedia dramatica, wikichan, and 4chan's /b/ imageboard.
Sadly, the only way to understand and appreciate 4chan is to spend time there. At first, it's a horrible horrible place that will make you feel sad for humanity. Until you start to understand where the memes come from. After that, you just start picking up memes until someone says "/b/, It's a beautiful day outside. The birds are singing, the sun is shining, and it's just a great day to be alive. What should I do today?", and you reply "Kill yourself." and you understand what /b/ really is.
The best way to sum up Anonymous is the heartless bastard inside all of us. When the rest of the world is staring at the TV, talking about some horrible crisis, say Katrina, Anonymous is laughing his ass off at the people suffering. Anonymous makes jokes about anything bad that happens - from the big view (Nazis, Commies, 9/11, etc.) to the small things (raep, suicide, depression, etc.) 4chan is where the civilized mind goes to die.
Also, today is caturday. Post some fucking cats.

Re: "Anonymous"
No, the bomb thing actually happened. Oddly enough, /b/ got it like twice a day for MONTHS, but the feds didn't actually do anything about the copypasta until a few days before the supposed event, and then they only captured the guy making the initial threat.
Good thing they caught him "just in time"
