Re: OMG Firefox vulnerability????
A=B. I work with people that use their computer every day of the work week. "Right click on that," What?" "Use the right mouse button" "I am using the right one" "No, thats the left" "Oh you mean the other one"

Re: OMG Firefox vulnerability????
I can understand light very well, and unless it's luminescent (curse you, MhurronOriginally posted by Feba View PostIt's only a contradiction because you can't understand it, not because it's untrue.
), there is no possible way whatsoever for something to be pink and invisible at the same time, as being pink would disqualify the requirement of being invisible, and vive-versa: the two are mutually exclusive, no matter how you look at it.

Re: OMG Firefox vulnerability????
Mhurron, you're thinking of the majority of people in 'lol customers are idiots' stories; not the majority of people using computers. The majority of people might not care, but that doesn't mean they don't know about it.

Re: OMG Firefox vulnerability????
Since most people think Word and Windows are the same thing, a CPU is the white box under their desk and that when their system slows down it's 'thinking', I'll put money on the majority not knowing what you're talking about when you say Firefox.Originally posted by Feba View PostAnd we're talking about knowledge, not usage.
With such a large market share, it's unlikely that the majority of people don't know about it.
They just don't care.

Re: OMG Firefox vulnerability????
And we're talking about knowledge, not usage.Last I checked, 83% and 75% were majority and 17 and 25 were minorities.
With such a large market share, it's unlikely that the majority of people don't know about it.
It's only a contradiction because you can't understand it, not because it's untrue. The concept of said creature in and of itself is therefore a contradiction.

. . . Bringing up luminescence in an argument involving light should be considered cheating.Originally posted by Mhurron View PostIt could be self luminous.

It could be self luminous.I can disprove this quite easily: if said unicorn is reflecting the light waves required for the color pink, it can not simultaneously be invisible. The concept of said creature in and of itself is therefore a contradiction.

The rest of your post is great, but I can disprove this quite easily: if said unicorn is reflecting the light waves required for the color pink, it can not simultaneously be invisible. That's cute, except around 17% of web browsers in use today are firefox. Over 25% of the EU uses firefox. Most people have at least heard of firefox at some point or another; especially anyone who uses internet forums.Majority of people don't know about Firefox
I'd say there's a bit of a gap between 'physics and religion' and 'technology and education'. As to wishful thinking, it is good, up to a point. If everyone were a defeatist, we never would've made it into space, or the moon, and they'd remain science fiction. There are a lot of scientific normalities today that would've seemed impossible a century ago, there's no reason to not have hope and interest in any new progress that might come along.I pretty much lost all faith in the general public's technical savvy, after seeing how many people fell for the "burning water for energy" hoax and the tenacity with which they cling to wishful thinking, the general aversion to reasoning, and the popularity of "believing".

Fine. Russel's teapot, Invisible Pink Unicorn, Flying Spaghetti Monster, take your pick, anything I can imagine and disprove it.Basically. Except in that case it's probably not too hard to disprove the theory of the polka-dot elephants in space.
The point is that the burden of proof is on the person claiming something, not trying to disprove it.

Re: OMG Firefox vulnerability????
no one said Firefox didn't have issues...we just said that it had fewer issues than IE which makes it safer! Now we've got a big bug...hopefully it will be solved quickly...
