I absolutely encourage people to donate what you can to help with the relief effort. Have a change jar or penny jar in the house, house, how about donating whats in it? Every penny counts! Go for one week without buying a coffee/soda at work and then donate the total. Simple thing like that really add up.

Now a word of caution. Before donating to any charity please make sure you check their history. I'm sure there will be people trying to take advantage of the situation. We've had door to door people asking for donations from charities we had never heard of recently and someone was caught putting out a container at their gas station job during tneir shift and then pocketing the money. Do donate responsibly.
