I know, but 3 minute Sentinel and LR would rock. Mostly it's DRG though, as we found out about enspell II's and the 2 new wyvern breaths at about the same time and it'd be really cool to see them.

Also, RNG update, whoo. Though, I know this means that the "SMN update" this time around are just the avatars to sedate the masses, and maybe more shoddy programming to tweak with the symptoms of SMN's real problems (the lolAmnesia thing comes to mind). Still, I guess Velocity Shot needed the two-hour duration as per most of the other recent stances, the other updates are sweet, and the adjustments to ranged attacking are kinda nice, as well.

Cool... this may make my Rng climbing the /sub ladder for my Sam more interesting. It the original unlockable job I was interested in taking up but then my distinct lack of gil made me seek a slightly cheaper route to 75... Mainly, I fell hook, line, and sinker for Dancer after trying it.

I look forward to the messages we'll recieve, for sure.

    "Scoot up you idiot"
"Jeebers... you're breathing down the mobs throat... GTFO"
"You're not 'leet enough to hit the mob... please complete <instert questline here> or maybe a trip to the AH is necessary but buddy... it ain't gona happen... no don't cry... just walk away."

I've yet to lvl my Smn but I definitely look forward to helping people get a new avatar and can't wait to just have some new eye candy. Smn avatar animations are some of the best in the game imHo. Can't wait to see more.

Bst... I d k much about the job cuz I barely gave it a chance tbh... I liked other jobs too much to really go back and lvl it. More power to em tho... I had a great time in a bst party as a dnc.. I barely remember it but I remember it was fun.

RNG burns still happen, just gotta know the right people. When I am playing, its not unheard of to get an arrowburn invite. I've seen my share. Its not constant, but its there.

Hint: Corsairs see all styles of burn PTs, not must melee and manaburn. Arrowburn, Jug Burn and Astral Burns, too. I sneak on to my RNG and try to get someone else to be the COR in Arrowburns, though.

To each their own. I hate their community and their understanding of the game.

Also: I was wrong. The ranged attacks were simply "battle related" changes, not job related. That was July 19th, 2005. That's right. Ranger burns ended four years ago. What the fuck am I still doing even having that game installed?

I actually haven't read any of the update notes on BG.

I keep up with the game here. I keep up with the community there.

I believe the RNG nerfs themselves (changing potency based on distance, implementing level penalties like melee attacks have always had) were actually presented on the square-enix update notes as Ranger job changes even though they were universal. Could be wrong on that.

Also, I haven't checked BG but how many of them are already saying the ranged attack efficacy messages are making it easymode for noob RNG?

Re: Job Adjustments and Additions: Part I (10/14/2009)

I wasn't expecting a RNG update myself, but I can't deny that all of these things appear to be nice refinements to the experience of playing the job and the camouflage adjustment adds some new utility. I never particularly cared for JAs that carry no real combat utility, but now I can't say that about anything RNG has.

Even Recycle used to be kind of a joke, but when the merit update came that changed. It went from being viewed as something cheapasses merit to the RNG version of Conserve MP, giving them more longevity

Updating Camouflage the way they have actually isn't too far removed from the updates to Circle effects, it just gives the existing ability another use. And since the addition of SCH, more utility for existing abilities seems to have become a recurring theme in the updates.

Agreed. To add to that with some speculation. Ranger is specialized with certain "skills" such as Wide Scan. I do wish they would make the change available for all jobs. If Corsair's get snubbed that will suck.
Wide scan is usable under both /RNG and /BST as subjobs, put it on in your MH and pull up the map outside the house.. The only time it didn't work was when ToA jobs were added and it didn't function because they probably just forgot to include the functionality with their jobs.

Speculation based on this update being classified under RNG is silly, every adjustment to ranged attacks has affected other jobs that used ranged weapons. Sweet spots and ranged weapons have never been exclusive to RNG and why would they be? Again, I'll point to the RNG nerf - SAM/RNG was officially abandoned by all who used it as of that nerf and people only returned to it when the formulas were fixed again. The nerf hurt RNG, but it destroyed SAM/RNG.

I'm pretty sure the benefits of Camoflage will cross over, given that its under sub level. This will give the enmity sensitive CORs and SAMs a little something. I could actually see this being somewhat helpful to COR/DNC especially, since use of that sub sometimes nets a bit more enmity. Making my Slug Shots lower on enmity should ease things up in a PT where light cures are needed.

People like that piss me off. and esp when they pull hate and take like 1k dnc Pecking Flurry and bitch at me for not healing them.

I switch off between Sould Eater, Last Resort and Berserk when I play as Drk and weapon skill. It helps me stay alive, and the healers don't need to spend so much mp on me every time I weapon skill as the tank can pull hate back easily if needed.

Interesting. I didn't expect RNG to be adjusted this time around for some reason. I guess I didn't know what to expect. I never really think of RNG in the list of jobs that needs an update.

If a DRK is too stupid to control his DD in a pt, just let him die, its the only way they will learn. Eventually, they will get tired of the xp loss.
