(as you can see, now all of Bastok is visible and the sky is where it's supposed to be: in the sky behind the mountains of Gustaberg)
20 seems to be the highest value that you can use to produce noticable results. It's really amazing to get on an airship and actually be able to see far enough out to identify landmarks such as Heaven's Tower when flying past Windurst to Kazham, or being able to see Sauromugue Champaign off to the North East as you fly from Bastok to Jeuno.
I understand SE would like to keep the game fair and balanced for all systems, but really, does allowing a PC, or Xbox, to render the game how it's supposed to look really disturb the balance of gameplay?
Though the plugin says it increases draw distance for mobs, I've found this to be untrue as mobs, NPCs, and players still won't appear until within 50', though you can see much, much farther. In the end, this is truly an aesthetic adjustment to the game and has next to no impact on actual game-play.
Just saying, users shouldn't need to resort to 3rd party tools just to allow them to run the game how it's meant to run.

at the fact that it wasn't the Red Mages that started making a big deal about what Red Mages might get out of this update. An omen of things to come, perhaps?
