There's no reason a BRD's role cannot just be spread around each job, pushing everyone to contribute to buffing rather than assign it to one job and have it become Her Royal Highness all over again. This way you can actually lessen the stigma that "X Job is not 'useful'" by leveraging it with something exclusive that is desirable.

Notice how all the buffs THF gets are a complete joke while SMN gets everything from BRD and COR second-hand? Had these classes not been in the game, THF and SMN might have actually gotten things worthwhile. Imagine if DRG had the Haste AoE buff instead of BRD - people would have invited them well before ToA had birds. Or if RDMs had the MAB buff - HOLY SHIT, they might then realize they can indeed nuke.

FFXI would have been a much better game without BRD. COR at least had some strategy (job bonuses, learning roll values, taking risks) to it, though you could have just done the same and passed out their buffs to other jobs.

It also seems like there are MMOs out there that are of this mindset. Jobs like BRD are becoming a thing of the past here and there. MMOs that still have full-on support classes - those classes are prized classes and often picked up under false pretenses. And unfortunately in FFXI, sometimes it was BRD, COR, WHM or RDM that overshadowed your real favorites because they were just too valuable.

FFXIV fixes this somewhat with the way job skills can be applied to other jobs, but FFXI will never escape it because of its job/subjob design. Even so, there's no reason buffs in FFXIV couldn't just be given to each class instead of one or two classes having a bunch of them.

Also, no BRD class means no RPing BRDs, which were the one thing in FFXI that was more fucking annoying than an RP SMN.

The level range to repair gear set at 20 instead of 10.

They did something last patch that adjusted this according to the particular item. It's not consistent but so far it seems like I could repair a few things that are way beyond (prior to patch) my rank or ability.

Then there's also a few items that just does not seem to want to be repaired. I had problems repairing Garlond's Goggles, Rank 1 item, requiring only Sheep Leather Spetch and GLD at R10. >.<

Here are some of the things I am waiting for!

• Airships
• Chocobo's
• The Bard Class (this is fact bec Bard is mentioned many times in the storylines)
• A way to filter out NPC and tells chat in the 2nd chat log window.
• More Storyline quests
• A way to repair gear while you still have it equipped
• The level range to repair gear set at 20 instead of 10.
• End Game content! Cant wait to see what its like!

I'm also waiting to see if it becomes a game I'm even remotely interested in playing. I play these games for entertainment and "high adventure that's beyond compare" ... not crafting.

Synths adjustments for stupid ass synths that don't make sense! (look: Lantern shield, Iron Breastplate armor) with sub requirements that also don't make sense! why do I need weaver or aclchemy subs for synths that don't use cloth or chemicals! and why do I need R35 leather just to use a strap in a synth?!

Velveteen doublet/slops to be put in game, vests and tights are too fabulous for my taste.

Dodore doublet to be created, then wait for it not to be sold for 20mils (thats what the skin is sold for in bazaars) then I'll buy it, and look awesome.

NMs that don't need an army of R50s to kill.

More armorer recipes, including armored chainmails like the one in the opening movie, breastplates with shoulder pads, better shields and so on.

More adjustments to repair, some items still have weird repair requirements.

Oh, and more slutty clothes for my amusement.
