VIT ups your HP and MND ups your MP... The only discrepancy will be from the a lalafell having, like, 4 less VIT (and a little less HP) compared to a Hyur if they both stat dump. And, of course, same can be said for the other stats.

No real legit players, are playing through this abysmal string of code (outside its beautiful graphics) trying to help them get this game running smooth. I personally would love for it to be polished and ready for a 22nd release, but I personally do not think it will be, unless SE starts into listening to the player base for once. Real Legit players know when something is a pile of shit, fanboys, do not.Many people in beta are not going to play the actual game; they are just random people willing to play a free game for a limited time. Real, legitimate players will purchase the game and be interested in playing and communicating with others.

As for racial stats, I am kind of upset at the huge gaps some races have, maybe it is the double digits thing compared to FF11 but @ 75 my stats at most were 10 higher than the lowest by comparison (see Elv vs Taru INT). I am already 6 points back if I choose a (new taru) gladiator vs a(new galka) gladiator.
Bascially my race is limiting me to a role as DoM. Then again I suppose I could use stat points to balance it better, but for all intents and purposes, Lalfell or w/e are clearly "meant" to be magic users.

Actually, Mithra have the same HP as Humes... not that you'd know it from asking around ingame. X race has more str and Y race has less. So you have a bunch of wieners going around blabbing on fan sites about how X race is the only way to go for Q, R, and T jobs. Then you get newbs that go to the sites and read this bs and really would rather have leveled with Y job but want to be the best of the best so they level X job instead. And this just continues to perpetuate itself because then the newbs go around saying X job is the best for Q, R, and T jobs.
Then along come the people that say "hey I'm gong to play whatever I want to play". The wieners and the newbs look down their nose at that player. The player then has a hard time getting into certain ls's that try accomplish certain tasks for awesome gils/armor/weapons/etc. Or has a hard time getting into parties to do guildleves or missions or wtf ever. It's just stupidity that perpetuates itself with only a small % of people realizing how stupid it is.
Example: Taru tanks, Taru melees, Galka mages, Elvaan mages (to a certain degree)...they were looked down upon for YEARS. It would have been better to go with flat base stats and let the individual trick out their character whichever way they choose and eliminate the prejudice, imo.

They also changed prices at the shops. Jesus Christ is shit ever a lot more expensive now especially crafting ingredients god damn. Distilled water was like 12 gil in the beta, now it's 117. All the basic starting weapons went from 49~68 gil to 600+! It's ridiculous!
They've greatly increased guild leve rewards as well (at least in terms of gil) but even so what the crap. Well, at least Ul'dah and Gridania are both quite pretty, if annoying to navigate. Limsa Lominsa is the only town with a really lively theme that grabs you. I also have to really question the way they spread out the guilds too.... why is it the desert city with plenty of rocky mountains has the mining guild, but then only goldsmithing while Blacksmithing and Armory are in Limsa, a freaking port town?!
And then Botany is in Gridania, which makes total sense but Alchemy is in Ul'dah? Um... what? Yes let's not have the guild that mostly utilizes herbal ingredients in the bloody forest city. orz
About stats you add points as you level up, the stats don't increase unless you do it so who cares if your race starts with less STR (3?) just add your points to it, and ignore magic stats, my PIE is still like 13, and my STR is probably 45 and VIT around that too.
VIT gives 15hp per point btw, its awesome, so even HP and MP isn't an issue, a Galka(Roe) can out MP a taru(falafel) if hes sure thats the path he wants to take.
And about shit costing more... well my 1st mission gave me 20k then 10k and lv10 leves give 5-10k a pop, yeah gil turned to yen in OB.
Even the galka miner at the strip club/miners guild was shouting that he'll give the mithra 100,000 if she "takes it all off" so unless miners are rich people... gil seems to be a weak currency.
So far its minor shit like no /sea or alt+r/t/l and so on not implemented thats pissing me off, the game right now is like a sports car, it looks great, it sounds great, and theres 2 cat girls in the back seat too but...
The steering wheel is a carrot.
Sure it'll work but why the hell is there a carrot here? why not a regular steering wheel? why do I have to run through hoops to do anything?
Why couldn't they take more stuff from FFXI's UI and use it here? it was great, why did they change it?

Other than that the game is nice, the lack of AH or search function at the wards is annoying, I waste time grinding to get gear to look awesome and do awesome things (hi joyeuse) but I can't do that here, because unless I want to scavange for gear in the ward I'll never find the good stuff.
And how is that casual to waste hours running through 500 mules to find stuff when the game is supposed to be casual and not take forever to do stuff?
SE relays on fan sites too much for the "item list" and that bugs me.
/rant off.
I'm still buying it, and I bet it'll be a good game once someone do something about the carrot.

A friend and I noticed that there is DR (diminishing returns) on stat stacking ... just an FYI. I think SE is aware of the issue and this may be one way they will punish players looking to get ahead on just a single stat alone. Not sure how steep the curve becomes and at what point, but even at level 5 w/o spending any point and then dropping all into just one stat, you start seeing the cost go from 1 point for 1 stat point to 2 points for 1 stat point.
