Also, I'm suspecting Wutai is going to turn out to be the asshole server, at least until 14 gets it's "Oh hey I can start anew" Hades/Remora servers.

One of my friends wanted to go there... And we then realized this and went to Lindblum instead. LOL

Only ten servers... either they really want to push things for Beta, they're expecting FFXIV to flop (or they don't care that lots of people will be unable to log in and play for awhile until they set up new servers), or FFXIV's servers are capable of sustaining far higher numbers than FFXI's. The last would imply that SE intends to have either larger environments, or lots more instancing.

Wonder what names they're holding on to for the future. I'd hope they'd move on to XI and XII before they loop; it would be a shame to see those two get neglected again. XIII doesn't have towns, so fuck it. Would be great to see a server named Rabao. Dalmasca should never happen, I promise you at least one person will name a character Vaan and run around shouting "I'M CAPTAIN BASCH VON RASCLEASOIABURG". Big bonus points to SE if they remix the music for all of these towns (or games, where there's only generic "town music") and put it somewhere (server select screen, special room or area of some kind, maybe Mog House, or at least Moridion Gaol, although I get the feeling that would lead to a lot of people intentionally getting themselves in trouble to test the rumor).

So, the chocobo symbols next to server names appear to be congestion. Dak was first reborn unto Mysidia, but there was a queue of about a fifteen hundred, so I switched to Gyshal.

We're going to Besaid since the same friend I mentioned earlier was the only one to make it through last night, he picked the server lmao. He also remade our linkshell on the server, which I find funny because he wasn't the leader of the shell back when it was running.

According to a ffxi friend of mine who was barely able to get through the process and get to the login screen, the servers are named: Cornelia, Kashuan, Gysahl, Mysidia, Istory, Figaro, Wutai, Trabia, Lindblum, and Besaid. I can't confirm it since SE's reg server is laggy as hell now and not letting me register.

No idea yet. I really have to find out who's still going to play. Several people have cancelled their pre-orders and are doing the 'wait and see' tactic and some are waiting for PS3 release so, all in all, I don't know how many we are going to have. So far we have a group of three for absolute sure and haven't decided on what server yet.
