Me and this DRK were getting kazham keys together in giddeus and for a while my axe skill was stuck at 69. When i hit 70 tho I was like cool a new WS. I heard this kicked some ass. So we were fighting a Votary or wahtever and my TP hit 100. So i tryed it. I had no idea i was gonna hit it for 178 I was outdamaging him the entire hunt. I think he was a bit jealous.

Sturmwind and shield break are superior to most scythe ws, till drk get to 60 and get guillotine. Makes me wonders why drk don't use 2h axe/sword instead of only leveling scythe.

Once in kazham i used a double thrust for 200 dmg and the drk in my group went like : oooo 200 dmg. He could barely hit over 100 using slice or shadow of death.

Personally i'd like to see another drk do a sneak + soul eater and sturmwind, that's 300+ dmg and a truck of hate coming your way.

Most likely sturmwind will be the highest dmg for ws till lvl 41 when mnk get raging fish and 49 till drg get pentathrust.

Sturmwind owns all.

Yeah my strumwind damage averages at about 350-400 but what I really wanna know is the damage comparison between guillotine and "raging rush". The 200 great axe weapon skill.

Sturmwind followed by Shadow of Death also gives you a very nice looking renkei.

Did a large number of them yesterday in the Orc encampments near San-Doria, hunting the third and final key (that key took over 4 hours by the way).

Sturmwind is a very highly damaging weapon skill, once did 200+ on an IT Clipper in Qufim, and that was NOT part of a renkei.

I first got it at lvl 25 in Yughott Grotto hunting for kazham keys. Against an orc there I set my personal record for damage, hitting an orc with sturmwind for 302 points . Thats with a mithkabob but not with boost or berserk, and with tp around 150%.

One of my friends is a DRK and uses GAxe. He seems to like it more than Scythe and i believe he built scythe while he was a WAR so he has that capped as well. He always tries to say that he does more than my SA TA VB combo but i doubt that he'd have to do around 460 damage with Sturmwind and thats when i have 100% TP :sweat:

I leveled Greatsword and Scythe. I chose these because later on their WS's are, for lack of a better word... UBER (feels embarrased ). After level 60 scythe WS's are all good (guillotine, cross reaper, spiral hell) and they keep getting better =). Greatsword WS (Spinning Slash and the other one i cannot remember that comes after) are right up there with a drk/thf sub. I do not know much about G Axe but i know that later on they do not have a very damaging WS compared to a Hand Axe (Rampage) or a sword (Vorpal blade, Swift Blade, Savage Blade). Yes you may have outdamaged 1 dark knight (I outdamaged a well equipped Dark knight with a Barb Sword.) Do not think you will later on in the game. I really think al lthe Drk WS are horrible up to level 60, save souleater - slice combo ( does about 320-360 dmg at level 42.) and a above 150% TP Shadow of Death... Powerslash doesn't stack with souleater and does about 200 dmg ><. Hard Slash however... does stack with souleater and this does a good 400 dmg when used.

No mater what job you are, you should level 1h sword to 175 for spirits within. This is a must if you are planing on hunting HNM.

Err.... WHM? BLM? SMN? all learn 1HS? omg but they can't use 1HS... O.o;;; or they aren't allowed to hunt HNM? poor them.. lucky I am a melee... but I can't join either... being a MNK

lol, although sturmwind is great, but I would rather see a DRK over 30, be using his/her A weapons than a B weapon Raging fists is the game lowest lvl. 5 hit WS... but that doesn't mean everyone should play MNK to use it and I think DRK does have the missing issue, so if they use greataxe which they are bad at... they will be a burden more than a helper

And it's hard to say damage of sturmwind is always better, considering scythe and G axe is good at different monster.... like penta thrust vs raging fists on skeleton... even with SA+TA or whatever... penta thrust will still lose, because piercing is bad against skel...

but congratz on beating a DRK's attack lol next project is to beat a TA+SA+VB attack~ /cheer

Raging Rush is nice but Guillotine is much better. On exp mobs I usually do about 200~300 with Raging Rush on exp mobs. Guillotine about 400~500. Sturmwind at this point on exp mobs about 80~150. These numbers are without beserk, souleater, etc... Guillotine can hit 1k with souleater. Guillotine is just insane.
