Like others have said, and I extend it....this is silly to ask this quest when we know next to nothing about the job class, and just because you did not see them with a weapon does not mean they dont use one, unless SE said something.....

and if they dont use a weapon, then I am sure that the puppet is the weapon itself

Well, from the video Jei just posted it seems that puppetmasters will melee, or at least they're capable of that.

keep in mind also s-e said they might change some of the subjobs, to make more of them more useful.

at the moment, nearly every job simply whores itself to either /war /nin or /whm, but that may change soon

Nobody really knows that at this point. If you've read the posts in this forum and the fan festival threads in general discussion, you pretty much know as much as we do about pup.

I'm partial to ppm myself, but one of the devs said pup in an interview, so it's official now.
"Puppy" well be the accepted term in a couple weeks. =/
