is it better to specialise on ONE stat or have all round stats for a monk?

When you level up Stats are automatically distributed. If you are talking about Stat-boosting armor and weapons, str, and dex would make a monk even more effective.

so... agility and vit arent as important as str and dex? its more about creating character race/job/sub combined stats

summarized str and dex are offensive stats and agil and vit are defensive so if you are being a monk to tank you need the agil and vit if you plan on having a tank in party str and dex are more important. Its not going to hurt to balance them all out though. I plan on specilizing myself but my LS has really skilled WHM/SMN that plays 6+hrs per day.
