I honestly don't see why Aftermath would apply to other WS, since they're linked and meant to be special similar to the Relic WS.

It would cheapen the WS IMO.

Nope.

First they're talking about weapons, then they're talking about weapon skills. So then they're trying to make clear the differentiation between the 2. Pointing out that you don't need the weapon equipped to perform said WS. It's no large stretch of the imagination to think they were simply driving home the point that it's the weapons that grant Aftermath effects from performing WSs and not the WSs themselves.

Do I believe myself? Of course not.

But S-E patch notes also said we couldn't rest while sublimating. I'm not discounting anything.

And cheapen the WS? No. If Dragoon's 4-hit WS has say... sidewinder-like mods on all 4 hits, they won't complain about getting the acc/attack boost after using Double Thrust instead. If anything, this game needs less reason to always use 1 WS...

Sorry Lmnop, but it's pretty damned obvious they're talking about the new WS. "only execution with a mythic weapon will grant the powerful Aftermath effects." is directly referencing WS whose "destructive power will remain unchanged regardless of the quest completed to obtain them."

Any White Mage meleeing with Yagrush is probably going to be using Hexa Strike, anyway: the Aftermath does next to nothing for any of their spells except Banish and lolHoly.

Perhaps the duration on the aftermath effect will be long enough to allow use of both WS's. I think I heard that's how Apoc. DRKs do it, they alternate Cata (for the haste) and Guillo.

Why would they even do that? The mods for Catastrophe are insane compared to Guillotine, plus you drain back HP.

Guillotine: STR:25% ; MND:25% 0.875 DMG @ all TP levels

Catastrophe: Modifiers: INT:40% ; AGI:40% 2.75 DMG mod, drain about 1/2 dmg.


Now granted, it's 4 hits vs apparently one... so I guess that's probably it, especially since most Apoc DRK will be /SAM for haste abuse over /WAR (DA during Catastrophe could potentially do crazy dmg though)

I'm kinda curious to see if the Ryunohige's boost to Jumps will stack with the Drachen Greaves boosts to Jumps.

What exactly is the boost that af feet give our jumps?

Just so you DRG can stand on the edge of your seats in anticipation, someone did a zoom in on the FFXIclopedia SS of the DRG using Ryunohige. The text for the new WS "Drakesbane" reads:

"Delivers a fourfold attack. Chance of critical hit varies with TP. Ryunohige: Aftermath"

Boy, 3 more weeks until September for your Raging Rush on a stick.
