Farmiing for Sniper Ring

Snipers have lept up to 400k-450k on Gilgamesh these days (Archer Rings are at almost the exact same price). I don't mind much personally (since I bought mine at 300k apiece, so I stand to make a nice profit when I sell them) but I feel sorry for all the other Damage Dealers who want to up their ACC.

Just got my Haubergeon a few days ago (camped Mee Deggi the Punisher for 3 weeks straight, got myself 3 Ochiudo's Kote... every one dropped on a sunday... on Firesday... odd eh?) and I intend to combine it with the following setup come 59:

Ryl Knights gloves
Ryl Knight's Legs
AF Boots
Valkyrie's Mask
2 Sniper's Rings (I'm an acc whore... at least till 75)
Fang Earring
Assault Earring
Vassago's Scythe/ whatever the current GS for that level is (I'm using Faussar at the moment)

As for farming for Sniper Rings goes, NM camping is my preferred method these days. I'm sure plenty of people on these boards could raise more than 1.4 million in 3 weeks of farming, but the amount of effort involved in camping an NM is many times less (in my experience) than running around after monsters that may or may not spawn nearby and may be getting farmed by multiple other players in the process. Plus, when NM camping, I get a nice break of an hour or so after every NM spawn, while as a farmer would still be frantically rushing around...

Hmm...Must've started the thread awhile ago lol..

Finally got my 2nd sniper ring last week. Got the 1st one at level 40 for 250k, and now just got the 2nd for 340k. My gil gradually increased since I farmed while I seeked. I've noticed a slight increase in my hits landing. Time will tell if they are actually worth the price. Dead broke again....

Against IT+ mobs Sniper Rings will only increase your hit rate minutely, so, in terms of xp parties, they really aren't worth the cost (although I'd still wear them over any other form of ring). The rings truly shine, however, when you do BCNMs, where the enemies are specifically balanced towards your level. In Steamed Sprouts BCNM40 I noticed the rings practically doubled my hit rate on the mandragoras transforming me from a lousy stun-whore into a serious addition to the BLM's nuking. We had a PLD at this particular run (I know, you don't really need one for this BCNM) but I ended up doing ALL the tanking because my damage was generating so much more aggro than his Flash/Voke/Curing.

I believe I mentioned earlier, also, how these rings are pretty invaluable for Skill-up parties since over the course of one of these parties, a pair of Snipers can net you a level or two extra in your weapon of choice, which anybody who has tried skilling up from lvl 150+ will know is a fairly massive bonus.

yeah last week i got mine for 520k on pand....i dont think its worth spending more time farming for another sniper...lvl 40 in high camped farming areas...is about 30k in 3 hours...

yeah i'm on buuyons server...and kind of know him IRL, we had to spend 520k on our sniper rings....it sucked, so we figured we wouldnt bother to get another, I'll just get a daft ring as I get more money from farming and BCNM's

I agree, in BC40 even VE and LL made a huge difference. Swoosh whore to no miss.

I actually am doing pretty good from farming really I suppose.
In the last 4 days doing casual farming I have made around 250k.. about 1.5 of the way to my Snipers.

Then comes the Valkyries (sp?) mask and life belt... compared to Snipers is nothing!

Drk is a pretty pricey path in life but unlike with mage classes we can sell back all we buy so once me n longer needs my items I can sell them.

Hey at Midgards inflation rate I could get 5mil from selling my Snipers after a while ^^'

kinda sick everyone on lakshmi is buying gil killing the markets for players who actually farm.

It's around 700k or more. Up 100k in just 2 weeks ... insane. X_x

My THF friend had 1 million gils and realized even for ONE Sniper Ring he was cutting it close (wanted a black cotehardie which is not cheap either) and managed to get a deal on Earth Staff and bought that instead (raising his evasion). He could sell the Earth Staff for profit methinks because of how low he got it for and relative demand for it among PLDs.

I had to get a loan to buy my ONE sniper ring. I have RK Body, Mittens and Breeches as well with collar and life belt. Figuring out how to get an Assault Earring (thankfully the price went down to 199k instead of the outrageous near 300K it once was and I'm assuming that is because people can get these and Vassago's as well, from BCNM). I think my Sniper's was only 550K at that time. Sheesh ... 150k up

With all these prices going up..I have to wonder, will they ever come down? I mean I remember once Silver Ingots went up to 30k which would make an insane profit on server Ifrit. However, after a few days people noticed and since the AH had an overflow of Silver Ingots the prices went dramatically down. I think we need the samething to happen to overpriced Sniper Rings. Why are they so damn expensive anyways? Are they that hard to get?

Spawn: 12 min (x2 spawns)

There's about ~ 5 to 10 on AH a day (Archers Ring). However, if some LS that camps for it decides to withhold placing Archers Rings from AH, the supply from AH starves. Prices for Archers soar.

Crafters then needing the Archers Rings will need to make their money from the Sniper's sales. They start to escalate the price of Sniper's rings.

If a particular LS is mean, they could stock pile Sniper's beforehand, dump them on AH to lower price thus causing many crafters to panic and sell at lower price ~ and losing money in process.

Repeat again.

Price on Midgard has been fluctuating - UPWARDS. Of course, if you're a crafter, you should try and level something else other than Sniper's and then tell people to bring the archers rings so you can make them Sniper's out of it. You make money from the service charge (anywhere up to 50k a synth). This is safer than trying to play the *coughNCcough* stock market.
