ATI Radeon 7200 problems
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience with fixing problems for some of the older video cards out there. My girlfriend's computer has an ATI Radeon card in it (registers in XP as 7200), and for a *long* time now, every time she starts up POL, the screen is always slow, it's difficult to navigate, and it seems like there are black pixels peppered throughout the window. It takes her so long to navigate through POL sometimes that she just gives up playing.
During FFXI gameplay, she's had problems with maps not displaying when the Map button is activated, spell effects appear as a big square (as if no alpha on texture), and even sometimes characters appear multicolored instead of having their correct textures.
I realize that the best thing to do would be to replace the video card, and I plan to do that in a couple of months or so, but can anyone help me make this card run better in the meantime so she can actually play once in a while? If you need any other info, just ask. Thanks!
