I have been running FFXI for over a year now. I have a PC that came with a built in Image that could be restored for factory settings if i got any problems, but a couple of months ago i formatted using this image and got an "Invalid Partition Table", since then i have had to install WinXp manually using the CD.
For a couple of months i got problems running FFXI with the manually installed WinXP, but then i got it sorted and it was running fine.
But now my problems have started again, after the last Update from SE or so it would seem (because this is when i started getting problems) i started getting some strange lag, it can happen at any time, from 5 mins to 1 hour. I will just start to freeze and my character moves every 5 seconds really slow, and i have to shutdown my computer and modem to get it running again. Once this happens it also slows down my whole computer and the internet wont respond. Also when i'm browsing the internet without even going on the game, my internet will just stop responding and when i try loading a website it says it couldn't find it, but the modem lights are still on.
I was just wondering if anyone else has any ideas about this? anyone else getting this problem?
Could it be the computer itself, the game, or the ISP?
