A normal person would have given up by now...but I'm sadly a programmer, and we're all prone to just go at things until they're either completely broken or work.

This would explain a lot about FFXI's population.

It's your Registry settings.

Windower searches for your registry key to find out where POL is installed so you need to run FFXI through Steam first without running Windower. When you run FFXI for the first time, your registry settings are set so go ahead and reinstall the latest version of Windower.

Cannot merge my PlayOnline account now.

Calling bullshit on this. I can use Windower without issue with the Steam version of FFXI and have an entire thread full of screenshots taken ingame with Windower using the Steam version to prove it..

The Steam version of FFXI doesn't let you use windower (except the plugins), FYI.

Calling bullshit on this. I can use Windower without issue with the Steam version of FFXI and have an entire thread full of screenshots taken ingame with Windower using the Steam version to prove it..
