Um, yeaaaaah. I tried that the other day. The main problem is that there are fished-up monsters. The Sentinel Crabs are at least 75.

I took my 76 WHM out there and fished at the pond by VC#04 (where the NPC is). I fished up two items and got KOed three times. RR3 FTW. Fishing for rusty items could be considered "getting off your ass", if there wasn't fished-up aggro involved. Then it's all down to having the "right" job.

On the other hand, I did get the key items from the Prospector. Another 3 minutes per stone is better than nothing, and anyone swimming in cruor who hasn't gotten them already is an idiot. For some reason they're temp key items, but checking wiki, there is no known way for them to disappear. WTF SE?

Also, I have been informed (by a friend who used to play FFXI) that it's pronounced "bas-tuke" (rhymes with "nuke"), not "bas-tawk". :p

Let's just pronounce it ABC and we can all be equally confused.

Nio, you shouldn't lose your light if you get D/C'd and get back on before your abyssea time runs out, but if your offline past how much time you had left in abyssea then yeah, you'll be pushed out and screwed.

Not to mention lately I've been getting booted off for no god damn reason. I just randomly get kicked off the server, or XBL too for that matter when I'm on my Xbox... no indication as to why, and I can usually re-connect right away. But that momentary disconnect is enough to screw me over, losing my chain & my lights.

What part of any of that is fail, particularly if you're trying to draw a connection to Besieged or Campaign?
    I have 3 stones
I turn them in and begin exp'ing with a group.
30 mins in, I D/C because Mediacomm can't design a decent network in florida
I can't log back in for 2 hrs

I log in, get booted, have to wait an hour, get 3 more stones, and you come back and the EXP party has been going strong for 3 hours now, have 2 1/2 hours of time saved up from open chests, and your playing catch up.

If you have 3 stones left I mean, cause if you don't your hosed.

I have came in with 120 minutes and seen 70 minutes pass until a TE chest pops up, even though we have capped azure and been seeing tons of blue chests pop. Oddly enough, a puller gets booted because he ran out of time and next thing happens the next 5 blue chests are TE. I left that alliance with 120 minutes of time although on 3 different occasions I was down to less than 20 minutes.

We only had 2 BLM, they started doing Tier II AM at 75% when we needed the blue chests the most.

Supposedly all it takes is a LS going in and killing all the sword-icon mobs in the zones even when there's no battle going on. No exp but that's not the point. Of course an LS actually has to be care, and with Abyssea now ramping up (I even registered it and am now building up stones)...

Equally though, I'm rapidly losing interest in Campaign myself as I've earned and lost and re-earned my max rank in the last month due to the massive surge of people in the standard zones.
And so are a lot of other people. Suddenly this week (on Sylph at least), Campaign is back to it's old self. Even during JP prime. I can get decent XP now, unless a battle ends while my XP is still time-capped.

So at least I can have some fun with campaign while I save up Abyssea time.

    Re: Abyssea Experiences

I joined another Abyssea party last night. This time I was Black Mage trying to get killshots to increase Azure Light and get Time Chests. There was one other Blm and I believe 2 Rdm. We were struggling to beat the melee to the death blow. Barely any instruction was given to the melee to not WS below a certain %. Finally just before we timed out some of the melee were starting to understand they needed to lay off at low %, but by then it was too late. We got a total of 2 time extensions added to the 90 minutes.

In short, I guess I must be elitist because I understand that a group playing TP Party +1 in Abyssea will not get great Exp and will time out. They need to understand that there is an Abyssea Alliance Party strategy.

I did however get a semidecent amount of exp considering we never broke 250 exp per mob and we timed out. So not a complete loss, but could have been much better.

The fail is so strong here that it could melt polar ice.
