There's supposedly going to be AF3, and it's apparently supposed to be possible to get a full set of it even if you buy only one of the Abyssea add-ons, without the need to buy the other two as well.

I occasionally see people somehow associating the level-cap increase with Abyssea. While I'm sure Abyssea will surely, in its own way, cater to the new level ranges, I'm also certain that the level cap increase itself will be completely independent of Abyssea.

Meanwhile, I'm just sitting here all smug with the fact that these new "endgame-oriented" add-ons aren't exactly anything I personally need to be in any sort of hurry to buy. Maybe if I hurry with my leveling, I'll get my Red Mage to 75+ by the time the inevitable Ultimate Collection 2 would go on sale at a discounted price.

You're correct although I believe, based on previous experience, you'll be paying for them. Otherwise why announce them as addons as opposed to content update releases. This is one of the reasons I'd like to know more about them. The last lot of addons provided precious little in the way of content and if these are going to be the same price are we, me included, being overly optimistic in our expectation of significant content? Namely new levelling areas, new job abilities, spells, gear, weaponskills, missions, quests, and stuff that hasn't even occurred to me yet.

It's probably showing up late in June, so they'll probably start dropping teasers next week; though it wouldn't surprise me if they wait until the Mob Bonanza marbles go on sale on the 16th.

Nobody from SE has yet said anything about Abyssea being extra-cost content. Or at least not that I have heard/seen anywhere.

In fact, I only just realized that each part has a name, which slightly hints at them being "expansions".

I'm kinda frustrated and concerned at how zero additional information has been released so far. The Abyssea site hasn't been touched since February yet there's supposed to be an addon coming out in June. I want details so I can decide whether or not I buy it and ultimately continue playing because presumably no addon equates to no level increase. I'd also like to know just how many levelling zones are going to be implemented, what the new exp requirements are going to be, and whether the levels are only applicable in Abyssea as some have speculated. Come on S-E, get a fucking move on.

When they say “Several new NMs & HNMs”…

Do you think that means they are adding these new NMs in random areas or is it kind of a play on words and all these new NM are from missions/quests?

Will be interesting to see what job abilities, and traits the jobs will be getting. And the new areas if any.

Level cap hits 40 in a month. Aren't they only raising the levels by 7 every subsequent patch from the one next month?

Last night, I went and summon burned with my mule's little 32 summoner and got her up to 37.

After I was finished having my little happy dance on how great it was I would never have to touch that stupid subjob again on my mule, someone politely chimed in "Level Cap hits 49 in a month." ...... and proceeded to blow all the air out of my little balloon.

.... There it goes... puttering into the distance with a loud squeel.

Level cap hits 40 in a month. Aren't they only raising the levels by 7 every subsequent patch from the one next month?

I know what you mean. at least they are doing it in increments. I just got BLM to 75, i still need to lvl some sj's up to 49 or 50. Lot fo things to do in short time left. Overall i am really excited to see what life will be like after the next update. Here's to being optimistic.
