Redoing augment items

Ok I am getting mixed info here, so I would love if someone could clear things up for me, I need to redo my augments on my helmet for DRG< and I was just wondering, where do you have to start from, once you drop your item.

Some people told me you have to start from the Beaucedine Glacier part, but I looked at Wiki and it says you just have to redo the fight (if I am reading it right)

I believe you just need to drop it BEFORE you enter the final BCNM. I think someone in our group had a similar situation.

They dropped just before we entered and was able to get the right key after the win
