    Re: Dynamis run theft?

SE won't make it instanced. Because they stated that Relics were only supposed to be for a handful of people. Didn't they?

By making it instanced, a lot more currency will hit the servers and people will have a lot less harder time. And since when is easy the SE way?

No, noone is obligated to be civil and it isn't technically theft. But when they admit to knowing about the dynamis calendar for the server and just say 'fuck it' we're more important than everyone else, then 'theft' is probably the best description of what is going on.
We had an upstart dyna ls starting an hour before us decide they only wanted to do icelands and just started going every week and keeping anyone else from running whichever zone they had planned. They knew about it, the leader just didn't give a shit. His best friend was in our dyna ls, but he wouldn't listen to anyone, even his friend.
Instanced dynamis should be a top priority to SE, but as was said earlier, they really don't care. And its a damn shame.

It's the same thing with camp "theft". You can call a GM on a party that intrudes on your exp camp, but they'll just tell you that yellow = up for grabs. Same thing with "stealing" an NM from a solo BST during a pet swap. The game doesn't stop it from happening, and GMs won't consider it a violation of ToS.

Server specific, centralized Dynamis scheduling, like camp courtesy, is something that the community has developed in order to maintain a civil atmosphere.

And you're right -- no one is obligated to be civil.

Instancing Dynamis is the way to go, but I wonder if it would also increase the rate at which ancient currency enters the system, which is probably what SE is trying to avoid. /shrug

Last Wednesday we lost our run for Dynamis-Beaucedine. Had to take Jeuno instead and beat it without any issues. Even had 1 hour left to farm, but no one wanted to stay and farm there. :\ Kinda odd.

We got bumped from Xarc last night, then a brand new LS trying to do their first run asked if we could not do Sandy so they could start with an easy zone...I didn't want to be rude but we were already on our backup zone and they picked the 2nd busiest Dynamis night of the week on the server to jump into so we had to tell them to kindly GTFO

They were civil about it and we tried to be too, hopefully they don't think we're asses now lol.

The major conflict will most likely not come from major linkshells anyway. With the prices lowered, I would expect more low man groups to do farming runs, especially in xarc.

There has been a push for separate instanced runs, but any time it gets brought up, SE states it isn't necessary. They've shown before in interviews that pre-COP content is hardly ever reviewed as it is, so I don't expect any changes unless it gets really bad.

Well unfortunately, this is going to become more common since the price is down to 500k for dynamis. Higher drop rate and lower drops encourages more people to do dynamis, and yes, random people will go in when they shouldn't.

Not much you can really do, except ask them nicely not to go in before your group does, but I'd doubt that would work.

    Re: Dynamis run theft?

We had a problem with that a couple months ago with a JP shell. Our sponsor complained and their logic was that they didn't feel that other shells should be able to determine when and where they could go. They also stated that they knew where the Dynamis Schedule was located, so it is possible that they may have been using the schedule to block runs as they entered about 15 minutes before our scheduled gather time.

As much as you might like to, there is no way to reserve a Dynamis zone at the start of the month. It isn't reserved until you trade your glass.

If you want to make sure you get the zone be ready to trade as soon as the previous group leaves them spam like you're trying to claim Nid.

We've had this problem for a while, getting northlands on a weekend was always a fight, getting cities usually results in a wait. It did mean we got CoP zones done though.

Our LS was just waiting for our last 5 minutes to run off from our Thursday run and we got scooped out of Dyna Windy tonight on Midgar. All the other zones we wanted were taken so we just said forget it, and did our own thing.

    Dynamis run theft?

Since the Sept up date there has been discussion of primarily Japanese Linkshells going into North American Linkshell schedule times and taking (mainly Northlands) areas that were scheduled at the start of the month... I know my Linkshell has suffered it on more than one occasion in the past.

I know this isn't a new thing and it's not confined to just JP stealing NA, but has there been an increase on other servers as well? Have there been a lot more occasions of people entering Dynamis with only 5 people ~just~ so the people gathering there can't enter since the update?
Working...
