  • Saving equipment sets

This idea came to me last night when I was switching from pld to whm in Whitegate. During peak hours, switching some 30 items around between your inventory and MH gets kinda slow. So I thought, "Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to create a macro (or some other command) usable only in your MH that you would set for each job specifying the gear that job wears that you could use to instantly remove all the gear from your MH and put it on?"

I pondered that and thought it might be complicated (people like to place items in storage and Mog Locker) so then I decided this idea would work better in this way:

1.A. Mog Houses would have a new command, "Equipment Sets." In this command you would select each job you have unlocked, and basically set the items the job would equip in the equipment slots for each job (just like you would for when you're actually equipping the items to your current job).

1.B. This could only be done with jobs unlocked, and you could only specify equipment that you currently have somewhere your character can access. (e.g. Inventory, Mog safe, storage, or Mog locker)

2.A. A new macro command would be created called /jequip (Job equipment). It's usage would be like: /jequip [job abbreviation].

2.B. Upon using, it would automatically equip all of the items that you currently have in your inventory that have been specified for the job you are on, or if no job was specified it would equip all currently held items for the job you are currently on.

    -----------

This would be a big change or anything, but it would just make switching items around a tad faster if you find yourself constantly changing jobs in small time periods. I also found this would have been impeccably helpful last night during a LVL 7 Savage Swarm Besieged in which a certain mob spams an ability that removes all of your gear. Having a macro like /equip to immediately restore the gear would be nice.

Please dissect this post now give some feedback. Thank you.

You mean like a Dress Sphere from FFX-2?

Would really speed things up when job swapping for BCNM or any other event. Sometimes you run out of the Mog House and forget that lil something

One: Set aside a macro set. You can equip 16 pieces of armor. You can do that in three macros. CTRL+1+2+3, you're done.

      Two: Windower Macros.

Not Dresspheres. Dresspheres was a different implementation of the Job system. In X-2, the only equipment you could change were your accessories, IIRC.

          1. You're right. Unless you use all of your macro palettes and have many jobs that you would want to do this with.

          2. Not everyone uses/can use windower.

If you're on PC, you basically get to have up to 200 macros per job, or heck, 200 macros for any occasion you fancy.

All you have to do is to move/copy/save some .mcr files ...

              yet not a mote of dust is stirred;

leaving no trace in the water.

But Ita, that would require logging out!

If someone is too lazy to set aside a macro set for their equip changes, they aren't going to shift around mcr files.

                not my fault.

I understand this too Ameroth. Think about the following though:
-If everything is sepperated, wouldn't this increase the maximum limit of the Mog Safe? Because there are 18 jobs, if all have (only) their artifact stored like that, that would be 5x18= 90 spaces. I think Mog Safe doesn't go further than 80 spaces or so, and you more than likely have much more items. An error message when trying to store an equipment set while Mog Safe is full would fix this, but would look ugly I think. (Ignoring the storage NPC's)
-What about equipment used for more than just one job?
-I think they implented the "dis-equip" ability of the Undead Swarm on purpose.

However, I too would like to see some kind of new system that makes this everything easier. I always carry full equipment sets for the 2 jobs I use most, plus the one i'm leveling now.
