I play this game way too much !!

THis game is just way too addicted. It is so true on the warning label they tell you
don't forget about real life friends and family.

I play like 3/4 hrs every single day. I don't have a life on the weekend because I can rack up hrs playing. Now granted I am single but I really need to get away from this game but cant.

I use to be a True gamer , played all games.. but now I can't tell you the last game I played besides this..

My friends call me on the weekend and I make excuse after excuse on why we cant go out anymore.. I am running out of things to say..

even when I am at work I am looking at different web sites about this game.

and now with the new expansion it makes it that much worst..

Am I the only addict...

I limit myself pretty hard. While going to college, I only play on the weekends, so I have something to look forward to at the end of the week. So far, I have clocked 34 days playing the game....and I've been playing for 10 months so far.

However, I know people who have clocked 25 days and have been playing for only 2 months. Not a healthy thing to do, in the least.

I usually play around 15 hours a week. Sometimes less if I go out, sometimes more if there is a holiday. If you seriously think you have a problem, chances are you probably do.

Oh I do know that i have a problem just not sure what to do about it..

I have tried going out, but the whole time I am out I am think about my next quest or next level..

friends call me on the phone I cant even talk because I think I am gonna miss something if i am in a xp party..

Quit. Its the easiest solution. That or limit yourself to certain days.

you're not THAT addicted...
when you go to sleep thinking about a great DD pt that you'll PL since you have a second account with a 75 whm

only to wake up, start up your PC n Ps2, /sea find DD's get 4, start fighting, get 4-6k an hour

play for 10 hours + then eat, shower, come back and do a lil synthing

AH, then go back to the leveling areas, and log out, to go to sleep

THEN wake up and repeat that. FOR 3 MONTHS STRAIGHT. yeah... you're not that addicted :3

yeah, but that's what I did since I was able to, working how I was working BEFORE I found FFXI, I was working at least 60 hours a week at a job I hated doing nothing but

sleep work lunch work sleep

after I saved up a good amount, I got a nice PC a Ps2 n HDD, the game for both, and quit the job, and did nothing but play having a wonderful time.

then I went back to school met my girlfriend, started an AWESOME job making what I made at the other job doing only 40 hours a week, and am having a "better" life than what I did.

but yeah, if you at least LEAVE the house...

I don't know about quitting cold turkey. That's a little over the top ^^, but perhaps finding another game that detracts your attention. Juggling the time on 2 games that you really enjoy is difficult, but it should pull you away from ffxi a bit. (I'm not sure if this is a solution or a double-up for the problem XD ). Anyway, it worked for me if you could say that. I used to play ffxi about ½ of the day, but then I started playing call of duty a lot and now I even out the playing time between the two. Oh yea, and the reason I chose Call of Duty: United Offensive for PC is because it was fast pace and you have a lot of control...majorly different from ffxi. A "similar" game like WoW or Oblivion would probably seem 2nd rate to ffxi. (cuz it would be 2nd rate to ffxi >=D )

I play 6 to 8 hours a night. Unintiontionally. I start playing at 8:55 PM and well most of the time I don't check the time but a few times I went to bed at 4 in the morning. Now that really isn't THAT bad but I usually have to be awake at 8 to 9 in the morning. And the sad thing is that I spend the majority of that time sitting in Upper Jueno by the AH NPC's with a bunch of friends that are looking for PT's. Or in the Merchant House in Lower Jueno where the Tarutaru live.

well NCAA & Madden 2007 football is coming up and I know that will take me away fro a bit.. but its not eay just to quit cold turkey at least not for me.. I have tried it many times before..

The thing to do is remember, everythng is great in moderation. I'm a "gamer" and I will clock alot of hours in FFXI per week. I'm talking 20-30 hours per week easy. However, my work schedule allows me to do this, and still have time to spend with my friends and family.

I work 12 hour shifts, and on a nurses schedule, so i'm 3 on 3 off 4 on 4 off. I can spend all day with my parents bbqing and what not, and still go home and play for 4-5 hours if i wish.

Just limit yourself, you're an adult (I assume), read a book, or go see a few movies here and there, set up a schedule that you only allow yourself to play for a certain amount of hours per day(or week), and once you hit those hours you are done until next week.
