I've claimed LL twice in 10 minutes before. It can literally pop back to back but it's pretty rare. There's no real way to force it to happen though. You just have to keep killing everything until she pops.

At least if they did get the drop, you know they won't be back.

Feba's actually right. There is no window. Leaping Lizzy can potentially pop every single spawn, or not spawn at all for several hours. 2 hours is simply an average - your chances of it popping on a spawn after two hours is no greater then within the first 15 minutes.

As for the backstabbing thing - yeah, it sucks. People, however, are asses.

Sucks, but in his twisted way he's right, it's a massive gamble to trust just about anyone on a MMO. I was burned by that, too, lost a rather expensive piece of gear. I cared more for the emotional attachment to it, as it was gifted to me by a friend who quit, than the monetary.

But hey. This is largely why I've played mostly solo since my last return.

Don't trust people. This is a lesson any PVP game will teach you very quickly, but it applies just as well to FFXI. The most commonly exploited system in any game aren't bots, they're not hacks or keyloggers any sort. It's human emotions. These lessons apply equally well to reality, too.

Reminds me of when my linkshell SMN friend went after some armor, I think it was Ying Yang Robe, but I might be wrong. Some of my linkshell members and him went out to fight the mob to get it and teamed up with a friend of my LS leader and 2 or 3 of their peeps from their LS. What ended up happening was, YYR dropped and my SMN friend lotted it and one of the people from the other linkshell lotted on it and ended up winning it. Now the problem with this is, she had said nothing about wanting it, and then too SHE DIDNT HAVE A SMN HIGH ENOUGH TO USE IT!!! I think her SMN was like 39ish. So this started a linkshell war because everybody in our linkshell is tight and if you mess with one of our peeps, you hear it from everybody. So everybody started sending her /tells and stuff about it and she ended up apologizing saying she didnt know and she'd give it back, but that didn't help my SMN friend since its Rare/ex.

Since when does LL have a window? It's always been lottery pop and I've seen it pop 15 minutes after it was last killed, or over 4 hours after it was last killed.

you're correct, but generally it's about 2 hours, I can't remember the circumstances to make it pop shortly after killing but yes it happens occasionally

I was in S. Gustaberg camping Leaping Lizzy last night (been there for over a week now, no drop) when I saw a high-level THF running through the area. I asked him if he'd help me with the drop since he had TH3, I figured this was my best bet. Offered him 90k (all I had on me) and he agreed.

When we agreed I'd pay him after we got the drop, I told him the pop-window opened in exactly 30 min. Half-way through, another THF (his friend I'm assuming) joined the party. When I said the window would then open in 5 min, they both disbanded and shortly after flee'd to LL and claimed for themselves.

Whenever someone asks for a favor, I'm almost always willing to help, paid or unpaid. People like this really make the game not fun for others. If he didn't want to help that's fine, but don't steal my information like that and use me. Now I'm going to be less apt to trust others because of this. At least I didn't pay him first.

His name was 'Kiego' and his partner was 'Bigjon'. Their LS was 'AfterParty', hopefully the whole LS isn't this way, else they'd have a pretty bad rap.

Word of advice to all players, stick with your LS for help b/c 9 times out of 10, they're the ones you can trust.
