ps2 keyboard and mouse?

One of my frends said you need a ps2 mouse and keyboard to play ff11 on ps2 is this true?? :confused: :confused:

From what I heard it will make chatting easier, but isnt needed. And I dont think you can use a mouse at all.

Also you dont need a PS2 Keyboard, ANY standard usb keyboard and mouse will work with a ps2. If you dont believe me lok at the cheap $5 optical USB scrollmouse and $15 usb keyboard both from HP that I use on my PS2.;

Cybers right, you dont need a keyboard or mouse but the keyboard will make it much quicker to talk to ppl. Dont need a mouse as really a controller is easier for playin.

I'm using the Sharkboard for my PS2 in games like SOCOM and THPS4. I bought this one because it was the only one I could find that was reasonably priced. Like they said, no need for a mouse. Not even sure if it would work

I'm a bit confused. Do you plug the controller into port 1 and the keyboard into port 2, thus allowing you to controll the game with the PS2 controller and type using the keyboard?

The keyboard connects to the PS2 by a USB port. If you don't know what that is it is one of the small rectangular things in the blue box (bottom left of your PS2) There are two of them. Either one works! The second controller port won't get taken up unless of course you are playing a two player game. None of which I know use the keyboard.

Keep in mind not all keyboards are USB. If you play on getting one for your Playstation 2, MAKE SURE IT'S USB.

Perhaps I should clarrify my question. I have seen posts where people have mentioned using their Dual Shock Controller and a USB keyboard at the same time. Is this possible on the PS2, or are you limmited to using one or the other if you play PS2?

You can use both.PS2 controller inport one and a keyboard in the usb slot on the PS2.And they work at the same time.

Can someone else help me here. I thought I answered his question already. That the keyboard doesn't plug into a controller port. Either I'm really stupid and don't understand the question or the I don't understand what he's asking. Anyway I though I answered your question _11of8, but if not sorry, hopefully someone else knows what your talking about.

I got a Sharkboard.And of course you can use the KB and the controller at the same time.But the KB hooks up to the USB slot.

He must have been playing alot of Dreamcast where the Keyboard hooks into a controller slot.
And about the mouse.It's confusing me,it said,atfirst,you need a USB Mouse and Keyboard.Then when I was signing for beta,it didn't say I needed the mouse for beta.Guess they made it to where you can type without the mouse.
