Part 1 - Back to the Cave

For my third adventure I decided to explore the cave I found on my second adventure more. I gather my equipment and set off for the long journey. On my out of the city I come across a great warrior. Checking his profile I see that he is a level 50 Paladin. He walked through the city, majestic like, turning everyone's attention to him. He walks into the weapon shop so I follow.

Quite a site, but I tell myself I must leave. It's already dark when I leave and in the distance I see a camp fire. Knowing from the past that usually Quadav type monsters gather around those areas, I prepare for battle.

I engage combat and cast my hold spells stopping them all in their tracks. Then I cast my Wind and Water spells killing them off one by one. After they die I run to the camp fire and take a little rest to regain my MP.

Once my MP is full again, I sit up and continue on my way to the cave. Then I see a bomb type monster. Never seeing one before I gladly run up to attack it. To my surprise, it was very strong. Once realizing this, I cast hold then step away from it's reach casting my water and poison spells. And if anyone is wondering, you can hit them more then 3 times with out them exploding. Resting right after the battle I am disappointed that I didn't have time to take a picture. So I made a note to take one before engaging in battle next time.

I get there after another 15 minute walk. Fighting any aggressive monster that attacks me. Then I enter the great cave again. This time determined to explore even deeper. Walking through the cave slowly, I make sure I only fight one monster at a time. As I didn't want to party with anyone so that I may receive every drop and all the experience. I only needed 1000 more gil for a new spell and 2000 experience for level 13! Each battle was giving me around 50-100 experience. Knowing the pathways from my previous trips here, I quickly end up in an area deep in the cave which I have never been. My body filling with excitement again, I come to a huge man made structure.

Then I turn the corner and see an entrance to some building. Dying of curiosity I can't wait to enter.

THEN BAM! I'm struck in the back by a Quadav type monster. I turn around in a hurry to cast my wind spell as it casts his poison spell.

Our battle continues, exchange blow for spell. I compare our HP and I see that will run out before his. I panic, unsure what to do as my hold spells continue to fail. Prepared for my death I fight with every last bit of my strength. But I then I hear the sound of a support and cure spells. To my surprise, I watch as my HP fills all the way back up!

With renewed confidence I cast my Wind and Water spells killing off the Quadav. Then turning around to give my gratitude I find he was fighting one of his own at the same time of healing me. With great respect I watch as he crushes his foes. One after another, as he had great power.

I came to realize that at level 12 I was far too weak to be battling here. As he was telling me I should be around level 20-22 here. Gladly taking his advice I set off to find some fellow adventurers so that we may explore this structure I just discovered.

Walking back up the tunnel I came from I saw my death. An Onyx Quadav appeared right in front of me. He attacks me first, delivering a devastating blow with what seem like a lightning after affect. Taking a third of my life, I quickly cast hold in an attempt to run but it fail. The Quadav attacks me again, shocked, I realize one more hit will kill me. So I cast blind to prevent the next attack but that fails as well. So then I await the next and final blow to finish me off. Remembering the name Onyx Quadav, so that I may come back for revenge... Then it attacks, and I die...

    Part 2 - Revenge

Filled with frustration, I quickly prepare to head off back to the cave. But first I had to purchase the new spell I could now afford. After testing it, I found out it increases my defense and causes a fire feedback attack when I an struck by a melee attack.

This time with the plan to bring a large group with me to kill the Onyx Quadav and further explore the structure inside the cave I set off again. Taking the long journey to the cave again, I saw that is was a full moon.

After gazing at the moon for a bit I focus on my task at hand. Seeing a battle happening ahead I get closer to check if my assistance is needed. But it seemed as though the little Warrior TaruTaru was handling himself just fine. Hehe.

Continuing on ahead for awhile, I see a young Quadav. I immediately rush to kill it. Casting my Wind and Water spells and enjoying every moment of it as I watch it die. But that wasn't enough, I wanted the Onyx.

Making it back to the cave I rush through it, killing all the Quadav I come across. At the same time I check to see if anyone would like to join me in my quest.

Finally I found some people that I could join up with. They were headed the same way so everything worked out perfect. Now we had a group of 5. 2 Black Mages, 1 Red Mage, and 2 Warriors. Pretty good group. We were all around the same level (12) So I knew we would be able to take on the Onyx and maybe even explore the structure a bit. So we set off fighting the few battles before reaching our destination.

Getting deeper into the cave we decide to rest for a bit to regain our strength.

But we quickly set off on our way again.

Then we arrive... We found the same entrance that I was at when I died before.

We enter... Exploring the structured pathways we all feel the excitement. We fight a few battles continuing on our way. But then I see it. An Onyx. I tell everyone to prepare and start the attack right away. My fever for revenge rising high. I cast hold and it works! Then I begin delivering my attack spells alone with our other Black Mage. Wind after Water, and Water and Wind. Taking 50HP per attack as our Warriors hack and slash at it with our Red Mage healing as fast as he can. Surprisingly, we started to run out of magic before it died. I was amazed. I disengaged combat to rest so that I could regain my MP as the warriors continued fighting. Then I saw our Black Mage fall to his death. Worried, I stood back up with only a third of my MP back and started casting my attack spells again. We finally defeat it, our warrior drained of all their HP. We sit and rest in the same spot for a while, regaining our life.

Satisfied with my revenge, I tell the party I must part. We bid our farewells and I return to the city..

Revenge is bitter sweet they say, but in this case it was all sweetness.

Hope you liked this journal of mine! Thanks for reading and be sure to post our comments. I only continue if you want me to.
