Sparkling target in N Gustaberg..

I found a target it doesn't have any ??? on it its just blank. when you click it it says "The ground is sparkling with a strange light... NO CS after that... can find anything on wiki about it... can anyone clear it up?

That spot is a migrating clickable location for the quest The Siren's Tear.

No that isn't it. This target isn't anywhere near the river.

Ive seen the same thing found it just by the mountain near the bridge over the ravine. I dont think its the same thing because I have already done this quest. The wiki says its on the east side (port bastok side) which is where I found it. This one just shows up as a blank target box and is on the side the outpost is on. It says what the OP claims is not a ??? mark but just a plain box. Like when you target some hidden doors and such, its targetable but has no name, or symbol.

At first I thouhgt it may have been part of an event but I can't find anyhing about it. Perhaps its the remnants of a dead sprite someone killed in the past. Im going to hunt it down and take a screenshot, then try trading crystals or something like that to it.

Perhaps it is an unusable function at the moment. May be used in a later quest, kinda like how they had the cavernous maws that were unusable.

Hmmm! That's new, then.

I've been through that section of North Gustaberg many times and never seen that particular targetable. Might be a glitch, or could be something they put in for some obscure new quest that no one has discovered yet.

It's actually a way of teleporting to the other side of the cliff so you don't have to run through South Gustaberg. There are similar ones to get behind Banishing Gate #2, as well as to skip running through the Glacier to reach the NW Eldieme entrance for BRD AF/Coffers/Tele-Mea quest.

Order of the Blue Gartr • View topic - Lycopodium NPCs and strange lights? - Short version: Find the same twinkling lights in the past, there will be a NPC Lycopodium there as well in the past. Upon talking to the NPC(and maybe the light too to be safe) in the past you will 'activate' that light. Next, go buy an Asphodel(it's a flower) from the Goblin outside of the MH in Southern San d'Oria[s], 100g each. Trading the flower to the present-day version of the sparkling light will teleport you to the other side of the cliff, shortcutting the normal path taken to get to that spot. Each time you use it costs an Asphodel.

Edit: Ding! Brain of Knowledge! Going to make my g/f call me that now.

I'm actually pretty excited about it as well, it's such a minor little detail but it's extremely convenient, especially with my g/f leveling WHM and doing all of the quests you do when you start the game, it's really funny how something so little as skipping a cliff can save you 10-30+ minutes of walking. Applause to S-E for this.

tried trading fire,earth,wind crystals to it got nothing.
tried trading feather, bird egg, flint stone got nothing.
tried trading 10K gil, got nothing.
