A lot of people go to Qufim Island near Jeuno at level 20.

You run it. There are alternatives compared to Qufim, but it's quite impossible to get anyone to explore that possibility.

The quest for the chocobo license is in Jeuno. I would recommend heading towards Bastok first and acquiring 4 clumps of Gausebit Wildgrass from the Wadi Hares in the Dangruf Wadi, then setting out towards Jeuno from Bastok.

The Gausebit Wildgrass is used to complete the chocobo license quest - otherwise if you arrive in Jeuno without it, you're at the mercy of the auction house; even should it be available for purchase, it will be pretty expensive, since that's the only place where it's used.

The path to Jeuno from Bastok is:

Bastok Markets > South Gustaberg > North Gustaberg (West) > Konschtat Highlands > Pashhow Marshlands > Rolanberry Fields > Lower Jeuno.

Of these, the zone you should be most wary of is Passhow Marshlands (Malboros, Goblins, and Goobues are aggressive). Try to stay on the "wide" paths through Pashhow as much as possible, and stay way far away from any of the aggressives - and be patient if there doesn't immediately appear to be a path - sooner or later they'll shift and give you an opening.

Rolanberry Fields is a much easier zone to navigate. Goobue Farmers, Ochu, and Goblins are aggressive (plus the occasional Igniis Fatuus during overcast weather). Unlike Passhow Marshlands, however, you have large spaces to maneuver around enemies.

I strongly recommend leaving Bastok as a level 1 job (enter your mog house, talk to the moogle and have him switch you to something you haven't worked on yet). That way if you mess up you don't lose any XP.

This trip has a added effect of teaching you just how far away you can be from enemies before they notice you.

Re: where can i go to lv up at lv 20
Or try to find a rdm(at least level 26) that has both sneak and invisible. With sneak and invisible you should be able to get through(just be careful that they don't wear off in the wrong spot, and once invisible is on don't cast any more spells or you will loose it). If you have bind remember you can use that to get some distance from mobs(as long as there are not more than 1-2 aggroing you). Another option to avoid aggroing is prisum powder(i think that's the name) to give you invisible(not sure for how long though) The best place to find a party in Juneo. If you are having trouble getting a party go there(it will be worth the time it takes)
The best advice I can give you is to get your chocobo license(saves a lot of time)--only takes 20min from Bastok mines to Jenuo. If you don't want to do that start doing supply runs to unlock telports to the outposts(helps more than the chocobo). When you are in Jeuno, stop by the AH(in the top level and go down the stairs). you should find a npc that sells chocobo eggs.(take to the npc right next to the chocobos inside the stables in Bastok) It will take 30 days but will allow you to ride your own chocobo.(gives a whistle which you call your chocobo from any zone which you can ride a chocobo-gives more options espically when combined with warps)
At level 30 do the supply run to Quifim(just have to get the the guards right after the tunnel). It will take less than 5min to get to Juneo(on foot) from here.
Hope this helps

I see you are from Hades. If you're still having trouble getting to Jeuno and you see me online, send me a tell and I'll escort you to Jeuno. My chracter name is the same as my username on this forum.

Just to add to this set your Hp when ever possible at various guards on teh way, it may cost 400gil if your coutnry doesn;t own that area, but its worth it, therefore if you KO you respawn at teh last Hp rather than bastok. if you have money then sneak oils (around 11-15k a stack) and Prism potions are usefull as in pashow and rolenbury you can use these to avoid agro.

If using potions remember use silent oil before prism powder usign a an item after prism powder cancels it out, it doesn't when using an item or selecting a ???. While silent oil i.e. sneak is up

Eurdice - The mithra of Justice - WAR/MNK/RDM
