Interesting. Midgardsormr's remained relatively stable for the most part, with Sandy solid last for quite some time but making a recent comeback. However, I have noticed that the past 2-3 conquest periods, if you were to count the Beastmen as a conquest participant they'd have come in first each week. This is a recent trend for us, but rather troubling... I used to have a Bastokan EFLS, but it's disappeared. Hope I can find something like this again...

What I mean is it seems like it veries. I have seen all 3 nations in 1st place numerous times(probably windrust being a little behind--but depends on the conquest period) I have noticed that some regions(such as where carpenters' landing is located--don't remember the name of the region) seem to go back and forth between beastmen controlled and nation controlled, but never wher they start nation controlled and then stay changed to beastman controlled. I have noticed that(except for Vulkarem-sorry for the spelling and yes I know that is only one zone in the region) most areas tend to stay with the controlling nation(probably due to being able to signet at the outpost) |

Old thread, i know... I recently took my WHM15 to Valkurm Dunes to party and get it to 20, since it was 15 and i hit SMN30. the first FIVE parties that i got were level 15, rank 1 sandorians...all wearing the level 1 racial gear with exception of the Tank of the group...who had, usually, either the Level 7 Leather gear or the Brass/Bronze (can't remember) harness gear. Needless to say, being a fully geared WHM with 2 astral rings, i couldnt keep them alive through even a VT crab...and it was sad. 1 day later, i sent a tell to the PT leader because i felt bad purposefully forcing a {Lost Connection} by just unplugging my router for a sec. I sent him a tell, and in response i got "i dont understand" and "i don't speak any english". So you can tell they were RMT or at least sharing the accounts because they didn't remember me. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th parties i joined, as soon as i saw that the PT was all rank 1, no subs, etc...i sent an "{armor} {do you have it?}, {Armor} = 0 -> {party} {No thanks}". In response i got many a {/cry}. lol. Needless to say, since there were no other parties going on, i sat there and stuck with the party until they started dying, at which point i'd beat feet to {Selbina}. Lol and Raen was semi-PLing me...but refused to heal the {Gilfinder}s, which i dont think was bad on her part. lol. Could *this* have anything to do with conquest? Bastok has been in 1st for 2 weeks now...which is near unheard of. You would think all the RMT folks would start in Windurst and thus level off of Crawlers and Bees for cash. oh well. |

There should be more than just rank 1 people in Valkurm. That being said, if you can't stomach the place, there are alternatives. As a lowbie WHM you can go and solo Maze Makers in the Maze of Shakrami at level 15 with nothing but Banish and Dia (Barstonra is helpful but not required). Move from there to Korroloka Tunnel's Land Worms around level 18 - and should you choose to do so, you can still take down Worms even as far as Qufim Island (though it does get harder as you gain levels since their HP goes up faster than your magic attack damage). Thanks, Ice. I wasn't sure that a WHM could solo worms very well, considering Banish sucks up 15mp per cast and quit frankly doesnt do a whole lot of damage. Also, would this be done at range ?(this is what i did with SMN, just send in the avatar...blood pact and let it die, cast Dia to keep claim, and rest around the corner until BP timer came back up...of course, i was killing worms in packs of 3 due to Ramuh's Thunderspark being so damned awesome). I just decided to stick with the dunes since a WHM is almost always needed on Valefor there. Most people go with War, Mnk, Nin, or Cor. I just didnt expect to see THAT MANY RMT lowbies there. I've always gone to Buburimu Penninsula with friends since camps are available en mass ![]() Having a PL from 16-18 taking care of an LS member in the party i was in, i capped Wand, Dagger, and Staff. At one point, the last Pugil we were fighting, the PL left, so i decided to use Benediction...and ended up TANKING a Pugil for the entire fight. Lol. I waited till the tank got low, dumped 2 Cure 2's on him to pull hate, waited until i was almost dead, and used benediction. Shield/Wand and i did fairly well. i had half MP and about 30% health when we killed it. I'm still amazed that i survived, but having Evasion and Shield and Parry capped i'm sure helped (although parry doesnt work when you have a shield, i think). All in all it was good fun. But if worms are viable xp as a WHM, close up or at range with only spells, i might just do that and level WHM to 25 or so before i go back to SMN. |
