Hrm well I looked around online for a bit, hoping to dig something up. Couldn't really find anything so I thought I'd ask.

What's the deal with The Sanctuary of Zitah? Is it a Sanctuary of anything? What's the story behind it? I just got to thinking about it all of a sudden and got very curious about it...

I don't think it really has anything important behind it maybe other then the fact that it hides the ruin that the Zilart figured as "Paradise".

Could be wrong, though. If there is a story behind it I'd love to hear it too.

Actually, the Zilartian Paradise is Al'Taieu. Tu'Lia is referred to as the Gate of the Gods. It was supposedly a key into getting into Al'Taieu. (I'm trying to explain this without spoilers.)

Zi'Tah is just a natural zone, no man-made constructions, except for Ro'Maeve, which Tu'Lia is floating above.

I don't know where you read that Al'taeiu was Paradise. Everything i've read was that,

Al'taeiu was the Capital of the Zilart, and Tu'lia was a new city that was intended to allow the Zilart to open the fabled "Gate of the Gods", which would allow them into Paradise (although in actually this would do nothing except piss off the gods and cause the collective ass kicking of Vana'diel's inhabitants.

When playing through the CoP storyline (Which I have completed)

The City of Al'Taieu was supposedly submerged under the sea, and it is only possible to access it once every hundred or so years. Selt'heus' actions with the 4 crystals caused an influx in power, causing Al'Taieu to indefinitly rise above the sea. Many times through the cutscenes, it was refered to as "Paradise". Tu'Lia is known as the "Gateway to Paradise". In the painting in the Sacrarium, you'll see that Tu'lia, is actually floating above Ro'maeve. If you look in the cutscene before the battle with Promathia, AlTaieu is floating above Qufim. Because the Empyrial Paradox, has a view where you can see Qufim.

I always thought...

Al'Taieu was the Zilartian city before it was submerged under the sea when they failed to open the gates of paradise, the Kuluu say that many times and so does Nag'molada.

Unless that changes in chapter 6+ (I'm currently stucked in the last fight of chapter 5)

It could be...

I'm not really sure, looking back on it. I remember something in a few of the cutscenes referring to Al'Taieu as the Eternal Paradise, and the home of the Gods. In the last cutscene, you'll notice that Promathia was actually chained up deep inside Al'Taieu. I think Nag'Molada actually said something when he first gets into Al'Taieu, like "So this is paradise?" or something like that. But even in the History of Vana'diel, one of the chapters says something about crossing the gate of the gods (which the Zilartians were trying to open), into Al'Taieu. Also, the tale is supposed to go that when the Gate of the Gods were open, Promathia would ressurrect, and destroy Existence, at that point, all of the Non-terrestrial avatars would revert back to their normal forms. The one who was destined to open the Gates, was called the "Keeper of the Apocalipse".

Nono I knew Al'Taieu was Paradise (Im on last mission of CoP) but the Zilart thought that Tu'Lia was the Gate of the Gods to Paradise.

Yes, you are correct. The Zilarts believe Tu'Lia was the key to getting into Paradise.

Then again, like one of my friends (who I pretty much go to for anything concerning CoP) said, "Let's see you spend 10,000 years in another dimension and not get a little weird."

I'm pretty sure Paradise is the land of the gods, which Al'taeiu is not, since we'd get ourselves killed by opening up a way there.


Could someone refresh me on if Eald'narche was gonna blow up Vana'diel to get to Paradise, or if he was just making the biggest "FUCK YOU" of all time?

I am fairly certain that Al'taeiu is not Paradise, and quoting Nag'molada probably isn't the best source, he's out of touch, and insane.

I remember there was a CS about a picture with Bahamut in Al'taeiu, bringing them a message or something?

and also, Al'taeiu's palace looks like it's made of cermet, and the panels look Zilartian, not to mention the fact that the Zilarts were the ones who made Cermet Structures around the mother crystals and such. Unless Zilart are copying the gods...

Al'Teiru is the fifth crystal. There was a city there. It has disappeared at some point.

I beleive the explaination, from late chapter7/early8 is it's an incarnation of Promathia, not nessicerily the god himself. Not to mention there are probably many gods other than Altana and Promathia,



Alternatively, it could be that Al'taeiu was originally a Zilart city, but when the gods//bahumut banished it to an alternate dimension, they just so happened to choose the land of the Gods. Either way, it's fairly logical to assume that Al'taeiu was originally built and used by the Zilart, regardless of what it might be currently

For Nanatsu

Zi'tah is the valley/forest/relatively peaceful area surrounding the Temple of Ro'Maeve. Ro'Maeve serves a dual purpose in RoZ missions, it's the gate to Tu'lia (the gate of the gods), and it's also the primary Zilart Temple as mentioned in ZMs leading to 14 and Tu'lia access. Tu'lia itself is actually situated above Delkfutt's Tower, which collects power from the crags at Mea, Dem, and Holla to power Tu'lia's flight.
So, in essence, when you look at the rest of Mindtaria, this area is actually a "sanctuary". It protects the original flora/fauna of the Mindtaria continent before the Ku'luu's Apocalypse at Fei'Yin and the Tarutaru's repeated magical rampages through San d'Oria's foothold in Aragoneau, as well as their draining energy/life from the continent by activating the Horototo Ruins for the Fenrir/cardian angle of their rank missions.
It is also a "sanctuary" in the traditional church layout, as it forms the area directly before the altar complex at Ro'Maeve and Hall of the Gods.
