As far as I know, nothing. Maybe it'll play some part in the upcoming expansion. There are similar caves in other parts of the world as well (LaTheine has one near the Ephemere, for instance).

It's just an anchor point where they can elect to add new content. I bet if they were ever to add in the gigas homeland that people sometimes ask to see, the route to it would be an undersea tunnel starting at that cave. The Jugner entrances to Carpenter's Landing were appendix-like caves also until the release of CoP.

Hmmm Well at least I'm not missing anything. It'll be interesting to see what if anything they do with it. I don't remember it being there before but maybe it was and I just never noticed it.
