I'd just like to add that even at higher levels, there's nothing wrong with having a back up heal, especially in a situation where you have no support in the group and your magely duties are heavy.

I.E. A party invite to a Caedarva Mire PT in the late sixties that was 5 Melee and myself. I was then by informed that the leader expected me to Silena spam, Poisona, Curaga after -ga spels from Imps and also be snappy with the Erase, Blindna, Viruna on Jnuns and be ready to deal with Cursed Sphere spam from Flies...and that was on top of having a 5/5 Haste cycle.

I then asked the party leader (BLU/NIN) how I was supposed to do all of this by myself, with no refresh, and that he should sub whm and help me out in the back line. He refused and I ended up disbanding; if an extra healer was available, I could have made that set up work.
