low level whm club or staff?

As a new whm do I use a club or staff to melee from 1-10 and what is weapon of choice at higher levels? Thanks...

Solo I'd use a Hammer (better damage than a club, and faster than a staff) and shield combo. In parties, wands are king. They give you the stat bonuses that will help your spells. As a WHM, you won't really find much use for staves until level 51 when the elemental staves come available, and even then you will really only need Dark and Light (for resting and cures respectively).

And don't worry about raising your Staff skill. Totally unnecessary for the purposes of casting, which is all you'll really use them for most of the time.

Murph has it right - a high damage Club class weapon 1-10, and a Wand for Exp Parties. +MND really helps you cap out your cures.
