Just be sure to invest in a Holy Breastplate, a nice Hammer of some sort (your AF Weapon works), and be sure to keep Stoneskin up on yourself at all times, while also keeping Paralyze, Slow, Dia 2 and other enfeebles up on the mob you're fighting.

With WHM/NIN, dual wielding Hammers, and keeping Utsu and Stoneskin up, you should be able to take on EPs, depending on luck. I'd also bring a NPC buddy out.
It is all about your gear, in the end. Get a set of good DEF gear (Holy Breastplate, DEF/VIT rings, at 50 Phalanx Rings, Look into your RSE, Tarutaru have some rather good pieces for this) and this can become a good/fun way to skill up while waiting for a party. Just do not believe that you'll ever be able to solo for experience.

How about duo'ing or trio'ing instead? I've duo'ed as WHM/NIN with a BST/NIN friend around Lv.40(?) or so.
Find a friend or two with jobs near your level, and see if you can figure out some workable strategies to take down T or even VT monsters. “ I’m in pain, but I’m happy.”
