How far would 200k get me from there?
Thanks. | I got to 30 on less than 150k.
I spun alot of flax into linen thread/ saruta cotton into cotton thread, and tunred the thread into cloth squares for most of my skillups. I made about a dozen fisherman hose from all the thread/cloth squares to make my money back.
This pushed me to 22skill then I made fly lures up to 30, now a good way to get skill on fly lures to use a lightning crystal to break it back down. Desynth fail rates are high, but a lightning crystal and a fly lure (sells for 120ish gil) is a cheap chance to skillup as opposed to making another fly lure for up to 1k per combine. Sometimes you get you animal glue back during desynth which is . I think I made about 50 lures total from 22-30. I did alittle desynth on heko-obi too when i could buy them in the auction house for 300gil or less, some skillups there too and the cotton thread returns are nice.
I did 90% of my skilling up during darksday over 2 evenings when it was close to new moon.
Now I make shinobi-tabi for skill in my 30s.
A large reason I started up cloth was so I could make kaginawa (I farm manticores alot and paying 17k a stack is ridiculous) but I resisted the urge to synth it for skillups in my 20s. 75NIN/55WHM/37RNG/37WAR/37SMN/28THF Goldsmithing (71.7 + 2) / Clothcraft (53+1) /Smithing (51.0)/BoneCraft (60) / Alchemy (60) / Cooking (30) | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-04-2004, 09:09 AM | #170 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Mar 2004 Posts: 36 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 133 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 133 Donate | Im currently a level 75 clothcrafter and due to all of the spiderwebs I'm buying its really difficult keeping up with the cash flow to continue crafting. It always has what you need, and there's no competition.
Thanks pdac, for your guide. I would never have started crafting if it wasn't for how well laid out your guide is. Just going to Mysterytour and trying to sort out what's best from all those myriad recipes is too overwhelming! Now, thanks to you sharing your experience with us, I've discovered what a relaxing and enjoyable change of pace crafting is! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-13-2004, 08:10 AM | #173 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 89 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 230 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 230 Donate | Can any high lvl clothcrafters post what they leveled off of 95+? Level 62 clothscraft now.
And, just a small rant, Silk Threads are now 20k a stack on my server! Considering nearly every craft 50+ includes some form of Silk Thread, I'm loosing so much money compared to people on other servers.
And yes I could farm them, but much like Starving Artist said, I just don't have the patience farm 100+ silk threads per level.
Oh well. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-30-2004, 03:48 AM | #175 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Sep 2004 Posts: 48 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 169 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 169 Donate | 58 Clothcraft as of yesterday, got contacted by a friend wanting me to synth a Lilac Corsage...

Also might be good to note how much the +1 version of either would sell for since you'd most likely make an HQ. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-02-2005, 04:31 PM | #177 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 89 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 230 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 230 Donate | nice sig ash, remnids me of:

Level: 83
Earth
Linen Cloth
Jujitsu Sitabaki
Cotton Thread
Rainbow Cloth is 40k, Rainbow Thread is 20k....so I lose 20k if I succeed, up to 60k if I fail. I'm looking for other things to help me bump to that level until I can comfortably craft Arhat's Hakama (As both Jester's Headbands and Devotee Mitts have limited suplies). Jujitsu Sitabaki goes for about 10k, Master's for 8k on AH....unsure of how much to NPC. And though I don't like leveling up off of things I need to sell on AH, even if it sells for 1g to NPC it's better then Rainbow Cloth on my server. Obviously I'll focus more on Jester's and Devotee's, but I'd like another craft for when their items aren't on AH.
And, speaking of which, when can I start doing Arhat's comfortably? 81? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-04-2005, 02:27 PM | #179 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2003 Posts: 89 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 230 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 230 Donate | I did master sitabaki for a bit, unfortunatly i didnt have the pattcence to AH them, so I only made abotu 10 of them :\ | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-25-2005, 03:40 AM | #180 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Feb 2003 Posts: 85 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 245 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 245 Donate | Profit at what lvl are lilac corsages worth making cause the sell pretty high on my server and i'd be a ncie profit! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
