ok so yeah im a level 14 almost 15 war this is my first person but i dont really like war alot do u think i should just suck it up till i get to level 18 and maybe 20 so i can get subjob and chochabo or do u think i should start a new one and just get that one back up i mean i like mage but i dont like white mage only i like the redmage but i also like to melee and from wat iv read rdm loses most of its melee abiltity ... should i get to the 18 war then use war as a sub for my rdm??? just tell me wat u guys think

sounds like to me maybe you should try DRk you get spells, high melee dmg but you'll need to lvl war or thf since for most of drk lvls i am told those are the most useful subjobs for it.

I myself lvled nin to 37 and i really dont see why ppl love the class so much I am having a hard time picking a new main job =( I am think War, Drg or Drk. Or try Ninja again u get melee abilities and spells or ninjutsu but its not cheap to lvl ninja and warrior is a must have subjob unfortunately.

ya u should do blue mage cuz blue mage is melee and its a mage job but you dont do crapy damage like redmage lolz but too bad blue mage is a advanced job so you cant get it if ur not lvl 30 so ya keep playing war until lvl 30 so you can get blu but if you dont like war now than you still wont like it with support job or a chacabo k?

Blue mage is probably where you'll want to go. Good sword skills, lots of magic. Complex, but that's why it's an advanced job.

Here is what you should do....

1: Take Monk to level 18.
2: Do the sub job quest.
3: Do War/Mnk up to level 30.
4: Unlock both DRK and BLU
5: Play around with it a bit and see which one you prefer.
6: If you dont like either one pick up RDM.
Btw, War sub is a good sub for both DRK and BLU so you cant go wrong by making that your first job to 30.

I really din't like war that much either when I started so I leveled it to 19, moved onto thf to 30 then lvling nin to 36 and went back to thf. I mean I went to thf on and off once nin was a good subjob. but then I tried out war/nin and fell in love with the damage that is possible with that combo. But like everyone has said try out drk blu and rdm. since you want to melee. but for drk most drk stray away from war sub (unless pt needs another voker) and turns to thf for sneak attack. but hey just suggestions lol. but I would honestly tell you that rdm/war really doesn't bring anything to the table for a pt. you get higher def but /mage would be better for more mp since rdm enfeeb alot.
