Of course you have to do a little bit of farming ( actually thats what you'll be doing majority of the time). But thats the prize you get for being the strongest melee/range DD in the game.

Actually RNG with Axe arent HORRIBLE at melee as long as its capped... still not on par with WAR obviously.

I would also like to note that /THF is a good sub... kinda underrated but you can do damage past 30. Once you get level 30 with your thief subbed. You'll get a crictal hit very mintue and you can add Sturmwind+Sneak Attack which can deal mega damage.

Actually, subbing THF and using Sneak Attack doesnt gaurntee a Crit, so much as just the hit, itself.

Not to say you cant use it, and SA + Sturm can be deadly, when both 1 and 2 hit.

Sneak Attack does garuntee a crit, trust me... The only ting is that /THF cannot modify their SA damage with DEX and TA does not add damage at all, just transfers the hate.

Rng isn't the be all end of all of all melee...but can any other job get away with partying with the same job and produce exceptional result. Rng rng rng nin brd rdm anyone? Rng are also one of the top melee DD for end game HNM, so you don't have to worry about sitting out (there good because they can actually hit the HNM, while the other DD whiff like crazy). And besides most of your good rng gears are free, just gotta kill the NM/HNM to get them.

Range damage and melee damage are both physical damage, so i clasify them on one category. Besides your next to the mob while firing your bow/x bow. Wheres the range in that?

War/Nin strong as Rng/Nin and just as wanted end game.

3 or 4 WAR/NIN's = 8k an hour atleast on weapons.

And it's very rare for a RNG to outdamage me on EXP at 75 (Hell, I've doubled the damage of a really shitty RNG. Yes, that's because he was shitty, but Skill/Equip > Job) and I'm by far not decked out. Only average gear.

Ever had a THF THF NIN NIN WHM BLM PT?

Hate goes back and forth from NIN to NIN, each NIN is able to SC with a THF. Ive gotten 6k an hour with this PT setup.

EDIT: btw Nny, ive seen you around in Hetacomb and Hauber and stuff... Hetacomb isnt average stuff ;p

I never pted with war so i don't know. Their useally the last job i looked at whenever i try to form a pt, so i don't know alot about them. The way I looked at it, if i want hate controller i get a thf or a drk (post 66), if i want a tank i get a pld or a nin, healer i go for rdm, whm, or a smn (if i have a nin tank), support i try to get a brd, but i useally end up with a rdm lol.

So i rarely looked at war since mithril axe isn't really as reliable as spinning slash or shark bite. And a war tanking before 74 without Ni isn't really a good idea. Plus i don't think steel cylone renkei with arching arrow/slug shot. And a rng pt pulls nice exp on any lvl. Not saying war isn't nice, its just i haven't pted with enought of them to have any opinion on the matter. But i can tell you...go rng and you won't be dissapointed.

How would i go about getting a ranger? what r the requirements?(quests, items?etc) Would a rng/war be ok?

for RNG, as any adv job, you need to get 1 job to 30 and do teh quest. The quest is easy, get a fang from the dead old sabertooth tiger's skeleton. Give it back to the quest giver and get the RNG job.

RNG is one of the most expensive, if not THE most expensive job in the game so i dont recommend it unless you have a way to get constant money.

And yes RNG/WAR is fine.
