Warrior: Whats the point
After playing through 20 levels with my WAR its starting to get boring. I might even like WHM better.

You mean after a week of playing warrior, you find it boring? I don't think you'll make it past genkai 1, no matter what job you choose IMO.

Tydan ...

from my experiece with a LOT of jobs (58 WAR, 56 BLM, 50 PLD, 40 RDM, 32 WHM, 30 THF, 30 NIN, 24 SMN and the rest at 10-11), NOTHING is fun at 20 ...

but i will agree ... i HATED my WAR until 25, at which point it got "tolerable" ... then I hit 30 and the fun began ... now at 58 it's probably my favorite job in my arsenal ... oddly, the only reason i leveled it at all was as a sub for my PLD, which i now don't play because i like WAR better

i will admit .. my first job to 30 was WHM (quite honestly because of the quick PT invites) even though i had already taken THF to 23 by that point, but until i absolutely HAVE to, i will not lvl WHM past the 32 it's at now because it bores me to tears

things to note ... at 24 WAR/NIN you get [dual wield] from the NIN sub ... at 25 WAR/XXX you get [double attack] (which using [dual wield] can net you up to 4 attacks per round) ... and at 30WAR/THF using a (great axe) you have [sneak attack] + [sturmwind] which deals pretty nice damage ... and those are just the short-term skills of benefit .. many more follow

also note ... at pretty much any level, WAR's are the red-headed stepchildren of the melee jobs - only a good party leader knows the value that a WAR can add to the party ... but at higher levels be prepared to wait long times for PT invites (although same goes for THF, SAM, DRG, or MNK) or be prepared to make your own parties an awful lot ...

so in closing, perhaps you are the sort of person that enjoys playing total-support jobs like WHM and that may be the ticket for you ... i'm not ... but either way, i suggest giving ANY job you are seriously considering until 30 before you write it off

Every single job in the game will boil down to "<insert ability-1>, <insert ability-2>...<insert ability-n>, repeat".

At some points, some jobs will be more fun than others. In the end, it is just a matter of preference as all will have their ups and downs. Lv5, 25, 30, 35, 45, 55 (huge), and 60 have all been key points in my WAR career. For DRK it is more like 30 (huge), 50, 60, and 66 (huge). For THF it is lv15 (huge), 30 (huge), 33, 45 (huge), 60, and 66. For BLM it has been almost every new spell as well as lv10, 12, 17, 25, 30, 50, and 51 (huge). With all jobs, doing the AF quests is something to look forward to as well.

Do you enjoy staring at the log looking for status effects and staring at the HP bars to know when to cure, or do you enjoy watching your damage numbers, activating your abilities, and interacting with weaponskills? I don't mean to oversimplify any job, but they are all repetitious.

For one, you can sub warrior on any melee class you choose to and not be "a gimp".

Even Thf/War is not too bad, though most prefer /nin.

If you don't like tanking and doing damage/taking damage, maybe this job isn't for you.

War, like every class is not that fun at level 20. You just got out of one of the worst places in the world (Valkrum Dunes) and are now in too another horrible place, but a little better (quifim) I suggest you keep with warrior till at least 30. This will free up the advanced class quests and you will also have a great sub for every melee job.

I agree with the previous posts, even with out the use of sub-jobs such as ninja, warrior is fun with Double Attack + Berserk after level 25.

Trust me man, every job sucks until level 30 EVERY JOB ; ;
