MNK/WAR is straight up damage and lots of it. They can be the trick buddy but they aren't very good at it because of the low defense.

WAR/MNK is still what WAR is at any other level, they do whatever you need them to. Damage, backup tanking, trick buddy, renkei with multiple weapon types.

Yeah, now that I've got some farming techniques I am hoping to unlock NIN and sub that to my WAR, currently level 30. With WAR30/NIN15 will I be ready to kick some @ss with Utsusemi, etc?

/MNK would kick more ass because of the abilities that you can use.

With NIN all you have going for you is Ninjutsu and Dual Wield.

How are all the 30WAR/NIN's on Siren justified then? I do /sea all 30 WAR nad 90% have /NIN and 5% have /MNK and 5% have /THF. The 'just Ninjitsu' you mention must be pretty special and the ability to avoid damage and POSSIBLY enfeeble the enemy must be quite useful too. I guess NIN make better tanks, though I heard Dual Wield can quite significantly add a boost to the attack of 1H Axes especially at level 50 or so but also before.
Can anyone else justify these subs at level 30?

WAR/THF at 30 is great, as is /MNK. Those people going /NIN are just too lazy to level either of the above. The NIN sub isn't that hot until ~50, at least that's what I have noticed.

Yes, I can.

With dualwield you add up both delays and that's how long it will take you to swing your weapons, it will take you just as long to swing as /NIN than /MNK. You'll probably only swing each axe for 15 damage and most Great Axes can do 40+. There is always the chance you miss one too. And for the "enfeeble" abilities, lowering resistance to (insert name here), isn't that great at all. And if you're poor, good luck with /NIN.

If you're not the tank you do better to /THF or /MNK. /THF doing SA+Sturmwind has a great damage output.

/MNK can do everything, no joke. When you want to tank flip on defender and dodge. You can use boost every 15 seconds increasing your damage by a few points thus doing more normal damage. Later on you'll get focus, yay more accuracy. As MNK you have so many abilities that you can accomidate to any situation.

And your server is pretty messed up.
doing /sea all WAR I can find up to 500 on Midgardsormr (I know
-_-) There is no 90% job that is subbed. And if anything, pre 60 there are far more /MNKs or /THF than /NIN.

You also need to take Dual Wield speed bonuses into account.

As soon as you get duel weild there is a delay reduction... albeit small.

And for anyone concerned there's also that ninja sub belt which "Enhances Duel Weild effect."
