It's not so simple. You respawn, they'll kill you again. Unless you spirit res - then you pay your repair bill and have to wait 10 minutes before doing anything. It's a gross disruption of the game.
These hackers have been doing shit like this for several months now. They're responsible for the DK exploit which allowed DKs to cast normally uncastable debuffs (the debuffs normally land when they strike with their weapons) on friendly players, and they're responsible for the server crash hack which allowed them to crash entire servers - this went on for several hours, interrupting gameplay for thousands of people.
They're not going to stop, either, I found the forums where these people bragged about what they did. Blizzard needs to go after them with the law behind them.
I get that some people may have a grudge against Blizzard but pissing off people who just want to enjoy their leisure time is a fucking dick move, fuck those guys, I hope they get what they deserve.

I remember this happening in Diablo 2. Granted... it was easier to walk away from that one. I remember players who would show up in your room as a group of 2 or 3 and systematically hunt down everyone playing, camping over their corpses and waiting for you to return to do it again.
I admit to doing this as well... but the only real loss that would come from these kinds of kills would be gold... and who cared about gold?
