Just picked up Sleeping Dogs today. Impressive so far after ~1hr. The setting is "almost" genuine Hong Kong, and the voice acting is top-notch and accurate down to the Cantonese (which I speak, hah!).
Only done some quick melee in the story so far, but the combat feels rather Batman/Arkham-esque, which is a good thing.

Update:
The Good: HD textures look pretty good, and the game runs very smooth at max settings on my rig. Melee fighting is better than expected and cars are responsive and handle well. And the game world looks pretty good with all those NPCs on the streets.
The Bad: Crashing from time to time, but that was expected. Also expected, the PC controls (mouse+keyboard) are very half-assed, and you actually need to hit Enter and Backspace to go through menus because those keys can't be remapped for some reason and you can't click on many options (but you can on others.) And since you can't even adjust mouse sensitivity I actually got dizzy while driving from all the sudden movement of the camera. Plus it took me some time to get used to driving on the other side of the road. <_<;
Guess I'll give it a try with a controller tomorrow. Damn console ports.

I'm thinking very seriously about getting a lolBox controller for my PC* after I get out of work.
I haven't tried one since the monstruosity back in the day so I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised by the revised version currently available. <_<;
Damn console ports...
*Since my old (and rarely used) PS2-ish controller seems to have decided to start dying after all the Ys fun I had in past days.

I haven't played much either, but so far the combat is pretty enjoyable and with quite a few abilities to unlock. And the missions and side quests are fast and interesting so far, because even if it's just getting your money back after being fooled by a girl (don't ask <_<; ) there's some nice Parkour involved in the chase. XD

The game is pretty good so far though. I got a lolbox controller and it worked like a charm. And while it bugs me having such awful mouse+keyboard support once I got the controller everything fell into place.
Fighting can be surprisingly intense, and I've been spending some time replaying Death by a Thousand cuts seeing how long I can survive. I'm going to dream about it, I'm sure. XD

Probably, since I've yet to use the gun I got and I've been doing a lot of fighting. But I certainly don't miss it, just fighting and unlocking new moves beats using guns as far as I'm concerned. Plus being a cop it just wouldn't feel right going around killing thugs.
Lots of knife action though, and I actually got a Golden knife with my Steam pre-order, but while it's sort of useful since it doesn't seem to break it's very limited when you have to fight many enemies, and doesn't allow for the bonuses from using the environment to defeat thugs either.

I already bought the lolbox controller though, so at least I will be able to play comfortably in case the changes aren't enough. Plus I get rumble (yay?) with the controller. <_<

Pretty fun game so far. Just when I think it may stagnate GTA style it unlocks something else and becomes even cooler than before.
Car/Moto racing is a pleasure to play. And there's something fun about drifting in a car chase with a truck full of chicken, feathers flying all over the place. XD
PS > Not everything is good though, though it's not even bad either: Karaoke and "dating".
But I just was very spoiled by the quality of Karaoke songs and dating storylines in Ryu ga Gotoku. So they just aren't as fun to me as they could since they are very superficial, which is a very minor thing all things considered.
