It remains to be seen if it gets a US release, and if Namco Bandai will invest in porting it to consoles as well, but its Dragonball, so anything's possible. |

Hey Vegeta, what's your scouter say about the mob's power level? *Cracks Scouter* ITS OVER 900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll admit that when I saw there was a DBZ MMO coming out that I wanted to play to at least test it out. In that second video it says "With Super Saiyans" I didn't see any in the video unless I skipped it, and for that matter I thought that Saiyans weren't a playable race in the MMO.

The only good that can come of this is that it will help refine the gene pool of other MMOs. Really, how are you going to tell who's not an idiot in this game? In all the other MMOs, we know someone's a damn retard when they pick a name from DBZ. Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 11-16-2009 at 11:02 AM. |

there is also this one: some call them Super Human, but people who translated the skill list confirmed that it's called Super Sayian. The Super Sayian skill requires Level 50, and has a 10 minute duration, with a 1 hour cooldown (a fair deal, IMO.) Nameks and Majins have their own transformation skill they can learn The Humans in DBO are from the far future, which explains how the Sayian genes spread across the human population after enough centuries have passed. That's why they can later unlock Super Sayian transformation. at level 30, players can fulfill requirements that turns them from a child into an adult, and therefore be able to learn new skills and level up further. What the hell? FFXIV isn't even in beta yet and you think that a Dragonball Z/GT (Dragonball never had any supersaiyans <.<) MMO is possibly better than it? Damn, you need some Ritalin.

My Mood: | Re: Dragonball Online, MMORPG that may surpass FFXIV? Yeah there were definintly no super saiyans in Dragonball. Matter of a fact, wasn't goku the only Saiyan in the whole DB series? I understand what you're saying here (Can I get a link for your info?), however this explanation makes no sense to me. How in the hell could humans who after all these years are maybe 1% saiyan (after splitting genes and what not) have the ability to go super saiyan which is mainly only attainable by 100% pure or 50% saiyans? (If anything they should be Cyber Saiyans like Cyber Newtypes from Gundam ) Anyways, "Super Human" I could go with, but no Super Saiyans in the game pl0x >_>. I like how the mobs look though lol! ---------- Post added at 11:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:24 PM ---------- Either that or somebody that puts SSJ in front of their name.

Dragon Ball Online takes place on Earth, 216 years after the events of the Majin Buu saga. Toriyama has been working on it with the developers all these years, and everything in this game is canon to the original timeline and plot. Also the Z in DBZ is just in the anime title. Everything all the way to Majin Buu saga is known as Dragonball in the manga. It's kind of like comparing Xenogears and Final Fantasy XIII. FFXIII will have better graphics, more voice acting, more features, but overall Xenogears will still be considered to some as more fun and better overall. The quality of Dragonball Online, is in many aspects of its gameplay, as well as cool battle system, and design, and overall it appears simpler, but overall it may be more fun than playing FFXIV. Of course both are not released but there are some thing that already stand out that DBO does better than FFXIV. *Faster paced battle system. This is a major plus for those who don't like delays between actions. *PvP possible anywhere, as well as in Tournaments. FFXIV won't have PVP for a while, and it will probably be isolated. *Dragonball world and theme, for DB fans, it's a plus. also with Toriyama involved, it's the most immersive and authentic experience in the Dragonball world ever. *Aging from child to adult. This is cooler feeling of progress and growth than just getting a set of elite looking gear in FFXIV. This will also profoundly set apart the veterans from the "newbs". *Unique atmosphere. DB has never been done this professionally as an mmorpg. So even to people who aren't DB fans, will find DBO's world and art style very unique and refreshing. While FFXIV looks similiar to what people saw in FFXI, same races and all pretty much. *Food doesn't spoil and weapons don't decay like they will in FFXIV. *Possibly not dependant on a corrupt economy. Money sounds like it will be easy and fair to earn in DBO, whereas FFXIV with its systems might bring back all the drama and headaches of player driven economies. *Crafting made painless. DBO so far has a crafting system by NPCs that give you what you need without the hassle of grinding craft levels. This is advantageous especially for those who have a life and don't want to farm and craft for hours. So even if DBO is somewhat gear dependant, players won't need to invest too much time or money to get one thing ready to be equipped. The only disadvantage so far is that it may be PC only, and it might not interest those that want an economy corrupt community and those that expect more races and classes to choose from. for a DB mmorpg, it already has the classes and master classes people would really want. Some might prefer an Android race added, but overall DBO is really full of great potential just like FFXIV! But those burned out of FFXI, FFXIV might end up being too overwhelming to have patience with, so maybe they might play DBO instead. It's a grind either way, but there's really no wrong choice. | |

Goku was technically the only Saiyan in DB, but the concept of Saiyan's didn't even come up till Dragonball Z. He was just a wierd guy with a tail, and King Piccolo was simply referred to as a demon instead of a Namekian. And while the videos look interesting, I'm reluctant to try any anime based MMO's after the 2 Gundam ones. ESPECIALLY if they don't release an international version, god knows i'm not gonna work my ass off translating abunch of stuff to play a grindfest(which it prolly will be), for that I can just play Maple Story/FFXI/Aion/etc in English for less hassle.
