My Mood: | SE to revive Lufia series, Cing makes Hotel Dusk sequel IGN: Lufia Returns Not much news other than that, but the original team that made the classic game will return as well. No news on what platform, but I think is safe to assume PSP or DS are more likely than the consoles. IGN: Nintendo Unveils Japan's Early 2010 Titles And yes, Cing and Nintendo are looking to bring back Kyle Hyde for another mystery. All in all, great news for RPG fans and point-and-click adventure fans. Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 11-12-2009 at 11:33 AM. |

I think I’ve only played Lufia 2 RotS. But it was a great game because of the puzzles mixed in with battles. Hope they make another Ancient Cave type…thing.

May I be the first to say hellz yeah! Now how about a proper Seiken Densetsu game SE? I feel like they owe us a major apology for the sorry piece of shit that was Dawn of Mana. |

I only vaguely remember Lufia, I think I had the GBC version back at some point. But after the last few DS games I've played from or with SE's backing, I believe they can make anything look good on the DS. They certainly don't halfass the DS productions like many companies do, that's for sure. Last edited by Omgwtfbbqkitten; 11-12-2009 at 09:53 PM. | |

YAY! ^- ^ And I'll bitch about Seiken Densetsu all I want Seriously though, I never did get through all of Lufia. It was a pretty good RPG for it's time though.

I emulated Lufia when I was in high school. Didn't hold my attention for long. What is this Hotel Dusk? |

Us older gamers remember Lufia. It was among one of the fun RPGs back in the SNES days. Too bad that Lufia 2 drove me insane when I tried to finish that insane Iris Dungeon, only to find out that the items were just "trophies." I swore to myself I'd never do another insane dungeon again where you eventually run out of healing and healing items. Sadly, I think there's another game that has a scenario similar to that... Astonishing they will do another. Boy, if anything, I wish they would remake Crystalis. That was like the Chrono Trigger of NES games. |

My Mood: | Re: SE to revive Lufia series, Cing makes Hotel Dusk sequel Crime Drama in point-and-click adventure form, but drawn like A-Ha's "Take on Me." Not as amusing as Phoenix Wright, but protagonist Kyle Hyde is an ex-cop who pretty much hates everyone which is just as funny. He has the Squall Leonhart "everone around me is some kind of idiot" thing going for him. Its by the folks that made Trace Memory and Nintendo seems to have kept it in print these last few years, so its still available most places. |

I thought it was a very enjoyable detective game and personally I would really appreciate more games like it (god I can't wait for Heavy Rain...)

My Mood: | Re: SE to revive Lufia series, Cing makes Hotel Dusk sequel IGN: Lufia Remake Set for DS As I suspected its a DS release. IGN confirmed the following: Its a remake of Lufia II, it will feature 3D and some voice acting and the adventure will unfold as an action RPG rather than turn-based with random encounters. Before you go "Damn you, SE" keep in mind the creators of the series have taken the game in this direction, not SE. If the creators of the series are making these changes, I'll assume they know what they're doing. Since DS is somewhat limited hardware, I suppose one could argue turn-based and random encounters are a way to go, but then when I look at what SE and others have been doing with DS, action RPGs seem just as capable on DS as anywhere else these days, especially when you look at stuff like Crystal Chronicles or Phantasy Star. |
