Funny Persona 4 mange excerpt

this was a fan translation of a short story from some Persona 4 manga, credit goes to Unknown of the Atlus forums for the translation. You don't really need to know anything about the game to appreciate it.

I'm on my Expert run in New Game Plus at the moment, so I felt that came along at a good time. Seems like the optional bosses are the real beasts this time. Tried to go against Contrarian King this time and he just whipped my ass, so I had to wait for the second dungeon to level up a bit more.

Death also likes to pop out of chests in New Game +, but you get a few disclaimers before opening those chests. I tried him once and he popped Maragidyne (Translation: a high tier Firaga) on my party. They weren't even level 16 yet, so I got wiped out pretty good. The bosses don't fuck around in this mode at all.

I pulled out 3 and started it up so I could finally finish it but then god damn rl slapped me upside the head for even considering sitting down to enjoy a relaxing game. Too many damn people asking me to do too many damn things and then my sorry ass can't tell people NO! I haven't even been able to start organizing my game/anime collection so I can sell some of it off yet! I just want to finish 3 so I get to FES and then get onto 4!! I'm so damn behind!

I was gonna replay Persona 3, but then they announced P3 Portable. I got the bonus content in FES done, it was kinda tricky stuff since you don't have the compendium to work with. So I'm set for P3P. I just hope that New Game + is universal between both protagonists.

Started a visual novel myself last night. Katawa Shoujo katawa shoujo basically translates as 'Disability Girls', it's produced by a group calling themselves 4-leaf productions. From 4chan naturally.

About an hour and a half into it, it's actually surprisingly good for what they do eventually plan to turn into an eroge (apparently, only the first act is complete). I realize that visual novels don't appeal to most people, but if you're willing to give it a shot, it is completely free. It doesn't have any erotic scenes currently, ostensibly, and when they're added, they say there'll be an option to skip them.

But it does seem like this would be a VERY easy feature to implement to any developer that cared to put in the effort. Basically just like Animal Crossing; when you load a file, it also resaves the file with the launch time. If, after that, you quit by a method other than Save & Quit, it can tell this because the file is marked as not being closed. Animal Crossing added on to this by having a counter of how many times you had reset, and changed Mr. Resetti's dialogue as the times increased. It would be very easy for a game to do a semi-autosave at certain storyline events; make it possible to load up your game from the point you saved at, but also making it possible for the game to KNOW that you changed your route. For example, if I pick option b, it could write 'chose option B' to the save file, and when I reset to pick option A, that could remain there. Would be a neat way to keep people from gaming the system, or at least to screw with those who do (like the above example)

And then of course there are forced-autosaves, which simply don't give you a way back, or the concept of Save & Quit as the ONLY way to save the game; and destroying the save as soon as you load it up again, as in Majora's Mask, Shadow of Destiny, and I think Way of the Samurai.

Speaking of relaxing games though TGM, do you have Flower on PS3? If not get it, now. Best $10 I ever spent.

Yes Mal, I do enjoy playing Flower when I'm not into playing something "heavier". My grandkids also enjoy it. ^^

If you think Contrarian King is bad on expert wait until you reach Shadow Mitsuo. I think I ended up having to farm SP restoring items just so that Yukiko could have a chance at keeping up with the huge healing load. Having him hit you twice with his AoE attack while in the shell with the last one critting and giving him a third turn is also something you will get used to seeing in that fight too

And I don't think I've even attempted Death more then twice on Expert mode even with a New Game+. He was pretty rough but manageable on Normal but on Expert he's downright sadistic even if you do twink yourself out with Lv99 "lolimmunetoall" Personas from your compendium.
