Off the top of my head there's at least 3 solid games on the VC

Secret of Mana
Super Metroid
Street Fighter II (pick a version)

They do need to expand the library though, it's far too small given how long the Wii has been out.

Super Mario RPG has been on VC for a while now.

Final Fantasy has been everywhere by now, it was only a matter of time before it came to virtual console. It will probably come to DSiWare and PSN next.

All of the big three collectively suck at getting old content because they all fear that we want that stuff more than the newer stuff.

And no, I don't consider Sony's recent update to PSN for PSP Go to be a major improvement, just catching up to the times.

Who doesn't own some version of FF1 by now? And why even bother with the VC version...

All hail the PSP version (though I personally have it from Origins ^^)

Noteable VC games worth buying;

- Contra 3
- Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana)
- Super Mario RPG
- Mega Man 9
- Ocarina of Time
- Toe Jam & Earl (classic <3)
- Final Fantasy IV: The After Years (though I still think it's over priced, it's a good set of stories)

The joke was more that FF1 sucks than all VC games suck. I am a proud owner of Super Metroid, and there are at least two or three VC games that are currently out on my to-buy list. Although for having like A DOZEN DIFFERENT SYSTEMS, PLUS ARCADE MACHINES as their platform, Nintendo sucks really, really hard at putting up good VC games. Like what, one every two months if you're lucky?

I own every version of FF1 both JP and US and I think I even have a couple PAL's. Even though it holds a special place in my heart and thats why I buy every version, even I am going to pass on this one. For pete's sake enough is enough.

Gah, I think Square-Enix must have missed the memo about "yes, we get it, North America didn't get FF1 when it first released, only 3 years later".

P.S. to Malacite: Mega Man 9 plays best on PS3. Functional D-pad > all when playing Mega Man games.

After I watched Mega Man speed runs for MM1 and MM2, I realized "Damn! My strategies back when I was a kid were horrible."

I cannot imagine paying for this game instead of emulating one of the 15 versions of it.

Then again, I can't imagine paying for anything on Virtual Console.

Lol, I loved the original game and its brutality. I never bought a remake cuz they were trying to water it down. Its good that they are releasing it as is. That said, Virtual Console sucks.
