TGS 2009: Sony Japan unveils 250GB Final Fantasy XIII bundle

The 250GB PS3 is real! Sony is taking advantage of its exclusivity of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan by introducing a new bundle. For 41600 yen, Japanese gamers will get a special limited edition system with Lightning (the main character, not the weather condition) printed on the body. It'll be available for purchase on 12/17 (so importers, get ready!).

We'll upload images as soon as we get them. In the meantime, you can download Final Fantasy VIII from the Japanese PlayStation Store for 1500 yen.

120 GB seems more than enough, I'll pass. Not like we'd ever get it anyway. Did we get a nifty Dissidia-themed PSP? Nope. Not that I don't like my Mystic Silver PSP, though. At least I got the alternate slipcases for Cosmos and Chaos.

PS3 games are region free so yes your NA games will play on it. Even your Blu Ray movies will play on it too but your DVD's will not.


Here are a couple of better pictures. Pre-orders on one site are for $730. If you have connections in Japan, have them buy it and send it to you and you'll save a lot of money. No import site is going to sell them anywhere near the retail price.

While I still prefer the sleek black finish of my 60 GB, that is still one gorgeous model. Though I wonder how it might look with the usual blue they use for the series icons over the pink? Might look really sweet.
