My Mood: | FFT up on PSN, but not the PSP version.
I guess this is cool if you don't already have War of the Lions on PSP, but the original version of FFT went up on PSN for $9.99 last night. I don't know why PSN strives for so much redundancy on PSP particularly, but I guess this is cool for PS3 owners that don't have a PSP. First they put up Tomb Raider Anniversery, then the PSX version of Tomb Raider Now they release FFT, but not FFT:WotL. They just released Silent Hill last week, the remake comes out on Wii, PSP and PS2 in a couple weeks. Weird sense of timing Sony has. |

If it was the new version I would have gotten it, but I still have my original Tactics so I don't need another version of it. =/

Kinda weird that they wouldn't just put the PSP version on the PS3... but maybe they figure they'll make more money this way? At least Silent Hill is up now for NA buyers and not just EU. |

Yeah but it seems strange to release Silent Hill right in the face of Silent Hill Shattered Memories, which is a remake of the same game. Lots of new features to that version, too. I have to wonder if Sony knows what they're doing with PSP. IGN revealed that PSP Minis will actually be gimped just so they can get approved faster. No download content, no add-ons and other features that could have been there won't be. DSi Ware comes slow, but there are a handful of games so far that have features out the wazoo. Pictobits, Flipnote Studio and Mario Vs. DK spring to mind. And hell, Flipnotes was a free app. I know the PS Classic channel's lack of interesting titles is an issue that will be overcome with time, but considering the PSP Go is supposed to launch soon, the selection that launches with it is pretty weak. I'll be all over Persona next week and it will be up on PSN the same day the game launches, but it doesn't really have stiff competition for my gaming dollar. Gran Turismo Portable is another misstep as well. Simply put - no career mode. Wow, talk about a buzz kill, that feature is the main draw for many players. Start from the bottom, build up your favorite cars to work your way to bigger and better things so you can strut your stuff online later. Then there's Ad Hoc Party. Not out in the US, but Sony's telling devs to gut the infrastructure modes for multiplayer features anyway. My chances of finding someone to romp about with in FFCC: EoC over NWFC were pretty slim to start with and that's in the networked mode, PSP has even fewer people and I'm supposed to tough it out til AHP is out. Oh, then it requires PS3 to even work. Hellooooooo, handhelds here, Sony. If you want me to tether myself to PS3, why not just put a UMD drive in there and make PSP games playable on it. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of options of what to play on my PSP and I can generally find the games I want, but I have better chances of finding someone to play Phantasy Star Zero with on DS than Phantasy Star Portable on PSP. |

For example, Dhalia is a young woman this time, and the rusty metal is gone in favor of snow. They are using the same cast, but the plot is going to be entirely different so to say it's the same game couldn't be any further from the truth. An actual remake on PS3/360 would be pretty cool though. The original was one of the scariest games ever, surpassed only by SH2. Also, glad to see I'm not the only one who's totally fed up with the lack of online play for PSP. For that reason alone I would have preferred Dissidia be a PS3 title placed on the PSN with online VS mode. Add-hoc is a nice feature but far too limited. | |

So they're basically turning the game into a clone of the movies like that did with Tomb Raider? And to be honest I don't know why Sony would put up the original FFT. The translation of that game was completely and utterly terrible and you lose out on multiplayer and the bonus classes. And they got rid of the White Mage + Chantage = win button thing and fixed Concentration so it doesn't proc on Steal anymore. Actually they made White Mages less absurdly powerful in general in WoTL. The formula for White Mage melee damage was broken in that game. It would use the Magic Attack stat to calculate White Mage melee damage instead of the Physical Attack stat so the result was a Healer, Tank and Damage Dealer in one that could Reraise at will with the Chantage accessory.

UMD Legacy channel just went missing on PSN and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo just got added on top of yesterday's ho-hum update of Greatest Hits. I'm guessing they're doing something. Hopefully adding something more impressive for Go ownders and Minis, otherwise Oct 1st is going to be a miserabel showing for PSPGo |

EDIT: Don't see anything about staff damage formulas being changed in GameFAQs though.
