Nintendo releasing black Wii, red DSi this summer

In Japan, it's going to be bundled with Monster Hunter 3.

Let me say that again: Black Wii. Bundled with Monster Hunter 3. In Japan.

I've been a slave to Monster Hunter since forever on the PS2, and it's never came out of my PSP. I'm eagerly awaiting the NA release of Monster Hunter 2 United, which is the English version of Monster Hunter 2G (came out last summer in JAPAN ONLY), which was an update to Monster Hunter 2 Portable, which came out THE SUMMER BEFORE.

So without hacking my PSP and downloading the .iso, I would have been stuck on Monster Hunter 2 Freedom. A game that is two friggin years old.

But this is GOOD. They didn't think NA/EU were viable markets for Monster Hunter, and then I guess they realized that Monster Hunter is the sole reason that the PSP is printing money over in Japan. (can't find NPD link, as their site is dumb to navigate. But essentially, one of, if not the ONLY PSP game in the Top 10 of all consoles was consistently Monster Hunter)

DSiWare is, DSi games we don't know because they haven't released any, DS games are region free.

I'm sure Black Wii will make it stateside, although it might take longer.

Actually Feba, the DSi's are region coded, they will not play NA games. (DS games or not).

So no, if you bought a red DSi you would not be able to play NA games.

I'm officially pissed off now, thx Nintendo...

It's not a huge deal, but that Black Wii would look a hell of a lot nicer with my all black & silver set up... right now it just stands out like a sore thumb next to my HD Box, 360 Elite and PS3 (the stand and HDTV are also black and/or silver, so the Wii just clashes so horribly...)

Mal, go to your local hobby story, buy some nice gloss model paint and paint your Wii. You may even want to put on a finishing coat of clear lacquer or you can get a matte lacquer if you don't like it shiney.
